"APS installed a River Pools 16x36 fiberglass pool in our backyard between May and July 2023. While there were some delays with some of the patio materials, we were very pleased with the final result and the pricing was competitive. Keith was very responsive and helped us with getting our pool balanced and ready for swimming."

"We had a very difficult project -- the existing concrete and fence had to replaced, along with the pool's concrete bottom, vinyl liner, and some of the plumbing. Midwest Aquatics was the only contractor of 4 or 5 who examined the job, that would do all of the work (concrete & pool work). The quality of workmanship was good, as long as my wife or I was staying on top of the work being done -- however, when we weren't able to watch over the details, MWA's project management and communications were poor. There were several cases where re-work had to be done, 2 serious issues that we're still stuck with, and contention over $$$ owed."

"I can't say enough good things about Masonry Doctors. Rolando and his crew did a phenomenal job at replacing my old fence. At 300 feet of decaying fence, I figured a fence replacement was going to be quite an undertaking. In the matter of two days they took the whole old fence down, hauled it away and built the entire new one. Not only did these guys do high quality work but they went above and beyond in making sure the job was done right and with quality craftsmanship. On top of that Rolando and his team are just a genuine, hardworking, good group of guys. I highly recommend them!"

FAQs for pool construction and installation projects in Montgomery, IL

While it is possible to put a pool on a concrete slab, it’s not recommended. This can damage the liner of your pool and creates a rough floor that’s not pleasant. Professional installers use a sand base to create a level surface and ensure that your pool floor is comfortable.

Sand is a fine material that creates a smooth bottom for your pool. Other materials, such as dirt, could contain rocks that damage your pool liner.

Pool sand is also known as mason sand. The different types include concrete sand, yellow mason and white sand.
