In both cases, nothing was wrong with the lamp except that the on/off switch needed repair or replacement.  Both times, Paul repaired or replaced the switch while I waited and, both times, the repair cost under $50--far less than I'd have spent to replace the lamp[s]--with far less satisfactory substitutes.  Both times, the repair took under 30 minutes.  That the first repair has "held" for the past couple of years gives me confidence in today's repair.  I, for one, appreciate the availability of skilled craftsmen like Paul to help me repair, rather than "toss," what's still usable and useful. "
