"Las Palmas Pool Co. was outstanding, from the start to the finish. They work 7 days a week to get the work done. They completely renovated our old concrete around the pool, coping, tile, and plaster bottom pool. Very experienced, and easy to work with staff. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!"

"Eddie’s pool did a phenomenal job replastering our pool. He repaired multiple leaks, installed new tile surround and replastered the whole pool. It looks brand new! Eddie was easy to work with, fairly priced and completed the job faster than we anticipated. Highly recommend for any of your pool repair/remodel needs!"

"Sean and Josh (owners) oversaw every step of the process, ensuring the work was done to a high standard always maintaining a clean/organized area around the work at all times. They were excellent with communicating expectations and next steps all along the way. The job was fairly extensive and required them to make several visits (they replaced my inground pool liner and installed new steps at the front of our pool), they always showed up exactly as communicated and completed the work in a timely manner. All said, their professionalism and follow through was super and such a rare thing to find these days with any construction project."

"After using another pool service company for several years, we were looking for another company that was more responsive to our requests. Hoosier Pool Guy not only was responsive to opening our pool for the summer, but they also were here within one week of my first contacting them. I especially like the online list of service prices meaning there are no surprises in billing. The crew was professional, polite, fast, and left no trash behind. Two thumbs up for all-around excellent service!"

"Unfortunately there was no fix for my very cheap hot tub off of Wish since all of the electronics are concealed. It is just a little swimming pool now with bubbles lol"

"The quality of their work was great. Getting them to complete the final details has been impossible. The concrete was poured in September. They were supposed to return in two weeks to install the pool and gate anchors in the concrete. They asked to delay until the beginning of November. We agreed. Because it was fall and the leaves were falling, the pool needed to be covered. So, we installed the cover without the anchors. Because anchors were not installed, we tied off the cover to fenceposts and heavy composite chairs to hold it a week or two until they completed the work. It is now January 7th and I have been unable to get them to commit to finishing the work until yesterday when part of the crew showed up after a snowstorm. You cannot properly stretch a pool cover when it is weighted down with snow and ice. Also, the straps were covered with snow and ice. In summary, the quality of work was good. If fact, we were considering hiring them for two more projects. If you hire them, do not make the mistake we made. We paid them before everything had been completed and trusted them to finish the job. Big mistake. We have now purchased the tools to complete the remaining tasks ourselves. At 70 years old, it is not a job I look forward to."

Most spool or cocktail pools take four to 12 weeks from breaking ground to the first swim, although timing varies depending on size, type, and site conditions. An above-ground, vinyl-lined model can be installed within three or four days once the kit arrives, whereas an in-ground spool adds excavation, plumbing, and inspection steps that extend the timeline. Because delivery alone can take a few weeks, lining up permits and any necessary digging or grading work during that window helps keep the project moving.
Cocktail pools are not intended for traditional swimming; they are built to deliver a cooling and relaxing experience. They provide an ideal setting for a refreshing dip rather than for exercise or lap swimming. The pool’s limited dimensions restrict vigorous activity and ensure safety, making it a perfect retreat for quick cool-downs and leisurely soaks in a compact, stylish design.
Spool pools have a depth of 38 to 42 inches, which is ideal for sitting, standing, and gentle dipping. This deliberate depth prioritizes safety and an inviting atmosphere while eliminating the possibility of diving or extended swimming. The measured design creates a secure and intimate space for relaxation, adding a refined touch to your outdoor area.
If you're handy and have experience with excavation, plumbing, and electrical work, consider installing your spool pool yourself. However, hiring a professional ensures the job is done safely and correctly. Pros have the expertise to handle all the technical details, giving you peace of mind and helping you avoid costly mistakes.
Maintaining a spool pool demands regular cleaning, precise chemical balancing, and thorough system inspections. Homeowners should allocate time monthly for filter cleaning and water quality checks, in addition to performing seasonal maintenance, to ensure optimal system performance. Ongoing maintenance preserves water clarity and operational efficiency, reduces repair costs, and extends the pool’s lifespan, creating a safe and enjoyable environment.
Popular upgrades include a brick-paver patio for slip-resistant footing, low-voltage lighting for evening swims, and code-compliant fencing to boost safety. Additionally, consider adding landscaping or a fire pit to transform the pool area into a year-round hangout. Each feature raises overall costs, but thoughtful add-ons improve usability, curb appeal, and, in many markets, resale value.
