"The contractor, I believe his name was Andrew, gave me an estimate and after receiving other estimates, even though I had a lower one, I went with him. I liked his description of the problem (cracked grout on shower tile floor)...suggested total replacement and also the fact that he was European trained. He took out the old tiles, and the cement sub-floor down to the rubber base, and in 3 separate consecutive mornings did the project..the last day putting a grout sealer. "We have a historical restoration building in downtown Washington, D.C. We had sent out nationally 75 bids for period construction and historical restoration work. This job included replication or historical tiles in all bathrooms and also replication of historical tiles in all hallways. Also the replication/repair of period wooden windows, which were rotted, also floors needed structural repairs made. There was a large amount of decorative plaster relief work, which had to be repaired, and molds made to replicate areas that were non-existent. The exterior had a great deal of masonry repair work which included repointing of all brick and stone work.
