"Matthew Dougherty- Upper West Side- Windows Project I would give Zicklin Contracting seven stars if I could. We have lime stain original wood windows and doors. The old single pane windows from the 1980s were ugly and ineffective. The wood window frames and doors were beaten up and the cello finish had bubbled and cracked. Took us a long time to figure out the right way to do it. Ali knew exactly how to do this job! The window installation was fairly simple, but the refinishing of the window frames and doors was really handcrafted, entire job took four weeks from the construction start date.Ali and every member of his team had exceptional customer service. They arrived on time, and called to let us know they were five minutes away. Every person associated with the job puts in a full day's work with exceptional focus on the job at hand. They left the house spotless every day and were considerate of noise, cats, home office work, everything. The work is stunning and reflects craftsmanship and attention to detail that went far beyond our standards.Raj was extra careful in the measurements and ordering and texting me frequently to make sure he had the correct finish and style on the hardware, for example. Raj said the windows would take a week to install and he could do it if the weather was good. So we installed in the middle of February. Raja and the installer both made sure we checked every window and understood how to open them for cleaning.Raj and his team were patient, even welcoming of every punchlist item. We added work in the middle of the job and the adjusted price was more than fair. It was a pleasure working with Zicklin Contracting and we will use them for all future large remodeling jobs."

"Over the course of the 15 years that my wife and I have been living in our house located in central Queens weve worked with a lot of different contractors, some good, some very very bad. Thankfully, Square Construction and Design was an excellent choice. After interviewing and obtaining estimates from several different contractors we selected Square Construction to do a 5-week major renovation/remodel to the entire upstairs of our home this past summer 2015 (kitchen, living room, bedroom, office and bathroom) and couldnt be happier with the job that Luis and his guys did. They were just what we were looking for in a contractor: easy to talk to and willing to listen; capable of getting the job done in a professional manner the FIRST time; made excellent recommendations, several of which were implemented into the final design; willing to take care of the numerous small detail items that needed to be done around the house (what homeowner doesnt have a dozen of these hanging over his head at any given time); completely trustworthy with the keys to my house while I was away, sometimes days at a time, while keeping me up-to-date with the progress; and willing and able to adjust quickly both to changes and unforeseen additions that had to be made. All at what my wife and I feel was a reasonable price (especially given the other estimates that we had received). They stuck to the available timeline, which was limited, and to the original estimate, with a couple of completely reasonable, understandable and expected deviations. Theyre not the biggest outfit out there (yet), but on our mid-size but very involved project, they were the best choice. These guys have a ton of experience, theyll get the job done, and youll love the results. They even took care of a couple of cosmetic things that I hadnt even included in the project. Why? Because they take pride in what they do. I dont write a lot of reviews, about anything, but Im happy to write this for Luis and his guys they deserve the five-star rating Ive given them. Id be happy to work with them again, and Ive had no second-thoughts about handing out their business cards to our friends and neighbors who have seen their renovations and have asked for their contact info.
