I went into the shop to look at some samples, and I didn't find exactly what I wanted. I emailed a picture from online to Ken, who brought similar samples out to my house. I was able to find exactly what I wanted. The product is LVT.. luxury vinyl tile, and it is superb. Everyone thinks it's real ceramic tile. I've had it for 9 months now, in a very high traffic area and it looks as good as it did on day one. The installation was impeccable. Eddie did a fantastic job. I'm amazed at the detail and the precision in places like corners and around molding. He even did some extras without charging, like putting up molding in the bathroom. "Because the shower was original to the house, it was a nonstandard size. the floor was sagging, and there was mold damage. Herb was honest about what needed to be done, and tried to keep my costs down when he could. He ran into trouble finding a new shower stall to fit the space and ended up making adjustments to the plumbing to accommodate the new shower.   It took longer than expected, but Herb stayed with the job until it was done. The result was clean and attractive and functional.  I had just rebuilt the bathroom because of a devastating leak and mold damage. If I had known Herb at the time I would have hired him to do everything. He is a real pro, does a beautiful job and is worth every penny.
