We hired Mike to repair and replace tile in two bathrooms. But, we quickly learned that Mike's skills extend far beyond complex tile work. As the renovations continued, Mike did a variety of jobs for us including painting, plumbing and woodworking, Mike is extremely easy to work with, flexible, and a terrific problem-solver. Our dad's home is about 35 years old and presented us with a variety of unique challenges. Mike was our savior, offering solutions. and going way above and beyond what we asked of him many times. Don't let his company name fool you - Mike knows a great deal about many aspects of home repair and renovation. He is flexible and great with timelines. Since my sisters and I do not live in the area, Mike became our eyes and ears at our dad's house as a variety of repair people arrived to do their work. "When I contacted JPZ Contracting about my shower stall project, Joe Zajaczkowski immediately responded and came to the house immediately to assess my problem and furnish me with an estimate to do the project. He understood my concerns and came up with a plan to solve my problems. He placed my project as his first priority when he knew I had a slow drip from the water pipes which was causing me some minor flooding. He found the leaking pipe very quickly and reworked the plumbing. He then rebuilt my shower stall by replacing a vinyl shower base with a ceramic tile base. He reworked the existing shower faucets. He bought new tile which matched the existing tile and he used it to artistically rebuild my shower stall, the shower seat and the new ceramic tiled shower floor. His workmanship was outstanding on every leg of the project. He left the work area clean each day by outstanding daily clean-ups. I was very satisfied and pleased with his high quality work and I gained faith in Joe Zataczkowski that he would finish the project to my complete satisfaction."

The office admin staff was very good at keeping me informed and communicating with me throughout the entire process. As for the workers themselves they were very polite and took great pains to make sure that they did the job to the best of their ability. I had never cleaned the grout between my tile floors for 20 years, so they did not have an easy job. But when they were finished, I could not be more pleased. I would highly recommend them and you will be glad you did. I sure was!"

"Caulking of vanity area was completed in three baths as well as a walk-in shower. A recently installed skylight was framed out and finished with matching paint. "I was initially supposed to get laminate in two bathrooms and a laundry room. The installer informed me that are not allowed to reconnect anything they disconnect so since I did not no know how or had anyone around to reconnected I decided not to do the laundry room. I believe the salesperson told me it would take 4 hours. I could be wrong. However they didnt arrive until after 1 pm and didnt finish until almost 10 pm. If they also had to do the laundry room they would have been here till after midnight. They certainly should not start a job so late in the afternoon if its going to take them that long to complete. Finally, I forgot to ask them to leave a little leftover tile just in case a piece got damaged somehow then it could be cut out and replaced. I spoke to my saleperson and he said they usually do leave a little. He checked with the powers that be and was told no they would not provide me with any extra title. I was only talking about a strip, not a whole room worth. I've used Empire twice before and went through that same issue before. I only use Empire because you can get the job done usually the next day, but they are not a whole lot of options to choose from."
