"Made an appt. with Castle Rep, James, for 17 windows and vinyl siding. He spent 1 hour talking about how great his company and windows are before finally getting down to the issue. We were told that CASTLE makes and services their own window, with all the best technology and technicians available. The price per window for energy efficient came out to over $1,200 per double-hung window! And since they make their own products, we could not find a way to compare quality and price with other manufacturers. But his per-window price exceeds the average price of $500-700 by A LOT! When we balked, he made a call to his "manager" to see if we qualified for a "special promotional" discount. If we were to commit right there on the spot, we would get an additional 10% off! Still way to high. We said we would think about it (he got sad and snippy), and that we wanted to hear about the vinyl siding quote before we made any decisions. He told us he could not give us a siding quote until his company did an "eagle view" measurement, which would require another appointment! We had no intention of sitting through ANOTHER high-pressure appointment. High pressure, long-drawn out presentation and he would not leave us with anything in writing! No brochures, prices, nothing! He refused to put anything in writing and we could not have a break down of labor and costs. I even asked him if I could have a copyhh of the window warranty and he said "only if you purchase right now." And they did not come prepared with references or previous job locations! When we further researched the company, we found they did make very excellent products, but the #1 complaint was by far that they did not honor their lifetime warranty and that customer service was horrible. In the end, we chose not to do business.."

The job was quoted in advance, be we never got chance to review the quote or even formally engage Jeffâ  s services, but we just had to get the window in for Xmas and they did it for us. The quote was very reasonable and the workmanship flawless. This may sound a little over the top, as a review for a carpenter and builder, but when you are in a world of pain, when you donâ  t know what to do and which way to turn, you are lost, helpless and desperate. Any help is appreciated and J & A Carpentry where there for us when we needed them most. I broke down in tears when I found out how they dropped everything to help us, complete strangers who they didnâ  t know would even pay them, a pure act of genuine kindness, based on trust and faith. I canâ  t possibly express how greatfull my husband and I are for their service. I was beginning to think we were surrounded by demons in the world these days, but there are angels out there after all. With the windows fitted in the cabin thanks to Jeff, we put up an Xmas tree and lights and transported my husband down from the hospital for Xmas. To see the tears of joy on his in his eyes, at a time of only pain and suffering, was priceless. Thank you J & A Carpentry Services, LLC"
