"We purchased a new home in July knowing that we needed to undertake a major project and had some additional fix-it projects that Scott and the team also assisted with. As the project got underway, we found that there was a good amount of extra work required to ensure that everything was not just completed, but more importantly done well. Fortunately, Scott was a partner on everything start to finish. We have a tudor style home with a mix of imitation stucco and stone. Because we have woodpeckers, James Hardie siding was an obvious choice. We did a similar style replacement of siding and worked with the team to design the final trim decor with very pleasing results. We also replaced all of our windows on the second floor, replaced a bay window on the first floor and renovated a sunroom to remove five old patio doors and replaced them with one larger patio door and then closed the second side and installed windows and siding. We selected Beechwood casement windows with the exterior dividers throughout the house, they also were the window choice for our bay window. The large patio door was a Marvin six-foot french style door. Everything turned out really well. We have had several neighbors stop to complement the entire project and the improvement the exterior upgrades have brought to the house. These were the official projects, I should provide some additional detail about the surprises we learned about our home and the partnership that helped us to get the job done right. First, when the siding was pulled off, there were several spots where the wood underneath was rotted so we had to have that replaced. We also found that the builder had skimped on insulation in several spots, so Scott and the team added it where necessary in addition to their standard wrapping that takes place before the siding is installed. We also found that two of the windows were more rotted than expected so there was more work to rebuild the framing as well as some drywall repair. We decided that since we were making the big investment in the siding that we would just all the soffit and fascia replaced. The gutters were only a few years old so the team pulled them off and then reinstalled our current gutters. We had a few places where gutters were missing or where the flow of water wasn’t ideal, so we worked with the team to install some additional gutters and the results have been a huge improvement. Finally, we have a sunroom on the back of the house and found that the wood was in bad shape when they pulled off the siding (much of the issue was the result of poor water flow as noted above). Scott and Dave met with us and we all decided that we needed to do the right work to fix the source of the problem. Once again the results to manage water flow on the exterior and the associated carpentry and drywall work on the interior turned out well. These are always big projects and unfortunately sometimes you just don’t know what you will find as you progress. We can truly say that the team at Elite Exteriors were partners start to finish. We have wonderful results and would certainly plan to do business with them again as we look to future home projects."
