"This was a fantastic experience. I called BP on a Wednesday to explain what I needed. They offered to come out that day between 3:00 and 4:00 to look at it. Mario arrived in that timeframe, measured the window and put protective tape over the crack to protect from broken glass falling out. I also had him measure another window with a broken seal while he was there. He emailed me a quote that same evening, and we gave the ok to proceed with ordering both replacements. The following Friday I sent an email to ask if he had an estimate of when the new glass might arrive. He responded almost immediately to say they were expecting delivery in the afternoon and could either come that same day between 3:00 and 4:00 or on Monday. I told them that today world work. They showed up on time and replaced both window panes in about an hour. This was beyond my expectations. Great work, timely, professional and polite. Wow. "When my husband and I were ready to move forward with the remodel, we researched several contractor options. We were looking for someone who performed quality work, who was trustworthy and who we could forge a long-term relationship with, as we continue to tackle our project "wish list" over the coming years. I found Higgins Construction on Angie's List and was impressed by not only the company's work portfolio, but also the owner's (Mike) values. He came out to meet with us shortly after we initiated contact, and I knew it was a good fit immediately. The remodel took place over the course of approximately two months (side note: at the time, Mike was booking work about three to four months out). Mike's team gutted the bathroom (we kept the toilet since it was in good shape and then the bathtub got refinished versus replaced). Mike's team installed new floors, dry wall, shower tile, canned lights and some new piping that was needed. We also worked with Mike's cabinet guy to custom design a new vanity that worked better for the space. Throughout the process, Mike kept us updated on what was going to happen when, who would be in and out of the house, and where we were at with the budget (and we really needed to stick to ours). His team had access to the house via a lock box, and were respectful of both our home and three pets (we crated/confined them if Mike's team was here when we weren't). The only reason I gave Higgins Construction a "B" for punctuality is because on some occasions, we'd be given a window of days when someone would show up versus a particular day. It took me a little longer to adjust to this as I'm more of a planner than my husband, but by a few weeks in, I wasn't giving it another thought and just operated on the assumption that someone would be here. The end result was beautiful and for all of the reasons cited, we absolutely will be using Mike and his team for future work (next up is likely a garage overhaul, in the spring)!

He installed two ceiling fans, removed vines from a window on the third story of our house, fixed three screens, secure a loose kitchen countertop, fixed closet doors that were not latching, and some other miscellaneous projects. "I recommend Ben to any person or family who wants the handiwork or remodel completed on their homes done right. A colleague of mine referred Ben to me for remodeling our basement and I’m happy to pay it forward. Ben did all things opposite of what I dreaded in a handyman/builder/contractor. His pricing was appropriate, he had A+ customer service skills and he did incredible work on our house. His pricing was fair. He was the lowest of a few other companies I explored. Also, whenever I told friends and family what he was charging for his work, they always responded, “Wow!” His customer service skills were ten levels above any other contractor/handyman/builder I’ve ever come across. He answered the phone every single time I called…literally every time. He sent line-item pricing in estimates that were easy to follow and clear. He’s a self-proclaimed (and independently verified) perfectionist. He re-drywalled a section of a wall (I never noticed it) that wasn’t “quite right.” Without us asking, he put three coats of paint on a sliding door that really needed it. He also never shied away from any type of work, from drywalling, to framing, to demoing, to painting, to removing wallpaper, to finishing egress windows, to remodeling closets, to installing sinks/countertops/doors/vanities, to even mounting t.v.’s. My wife, toddler, parents, in-laws and I are obsessed with the new basement playroom and “grandparents suite” he created for us and we will continue to call him for routine handiwork or other construction work in the future. I would recommend Ben to anyone."
