His foreman Darren was super easy to work with. When a minor change was needed, he rolled with it and knocked it out in no time. "These guys are stellar. My deck was in disrepair and I was uncertain what to do with it - whether to totally knock it down and start anew, or to build on the existing foundation. Also what material to use - composite, wood, etc. They came out, looked at my deck, gave recommendations, and worked within my budget. We went with cedar, and within two weeks, I had an absolutely beautiful new deck, built on the existing foundation. I was very pleased with the whole interaction - they were courteous and professional, friendly and hard-working, arriving early and working through the day to get the job done. It was for me an exceedingly good experience with a contractor, and their work is solid. I was nervous as a first time home owner to hire a contractor, for fear of not knowing enough and being taken. I had spoken with several other general contractors and also specific deck builders prior to hiring Modern Exteriors, and each could have built a deck. One larger company offered a lower price but when they came out, the materials they suggested would have been sub-par and the deck would have been plastic-looking. I have several rental homes and price but more importantly quality work is very important for my investments. From my first interaction the team did a great job estimating and replacing a roof that had major storm damage from a tree falling on it. They replaced the entire roof materials as well as repaired a bunch of the roof decking. Everything was done quickly, with great quality and even the clean up of all of the old materials was spotless. Easy breezy for sure!"
