"A fantastic experience start to finish. Our salesman was personable, knowledgable, and explained everything in detail; had sample windows to examine and test out and gave us options for payment plans and helped negotiate our final costs. The measurement tech was equally friendly and thorough. The office staff kept us informed of the window construction and delivery timelines right up to the installers' arrival. That crew was amazing. We replaced 25 windows of every shape and size across a large and tall house. It took this well-oiled machine of a crew less than two full days to complete everything, right down to raking our lawn and sweeping our driveway before they left. They were the very definition of professional. Polite, focused on-task, ready to answer any question, mindful of pets and flower gardens. The windows look incredible and work wonderfully. We heartily endorse Hansons!"

"Sooo....first, Jim is a very nice guy. However, Jim now works in Nashville during the week and is only home to the Huntsville area on the weekends.
My first impression of him was that he was awesome. My computer system had crashed because I pulled the plug during a thunder storm before the computer fully shut down which resulted in the computer hanging up. Jim took my call while in Tennessee and suggested how to fix the system. For this I am very grateful.
What happened next was I had him come and check my computer to make sure everything was working properly. He came to my house and spent an hour tweaking it (basically running various checks on the system), for which I paid him $50. He suggested that my laptop would work much better if I had Windows 7 and increased my RAM up to 4 GB. He said he could install it for me for (including the RAM) for about $160. We met the following weekend for the handoff and he loaded Window 7. When I received the call it was ready, the bill was $227.50. I was surprised that is was $70 more than quoted, but paid it anyways. When I asked about the RAM, he mentioned he did not upgrade the RAM and this would be another $60. I was a little discouraged at that point since I felt like I was being taken advantage of, but the guy is relatively nice, so I said to go ahead and order the RAM. He did so and the following weekend was supposed to install it. Due to some personal things in his life, he wasn't able to install it, so I picked it up since I had to go out of town and could use the IT guy at my new location to install it for me. When we went to install the RAM, the system wouldn't let us do it since my particular type of laptop can only take 2GB of RAM max. If Jim had gone to the crucial.com website (where he bought my RAM) and entered my computer system on it, it would have told him the max amount of RAM that could be installed on that unit. He did not do that. He is supposed to refund my $60 this next weekend.
I think if Jim wasn't burning the candle at both ends by having a job in Tennessee during the week and trying to run this business on the weekends, it would've been a better experience. Perhaps taking a few extra minutes to SLOW DOWN and write out an estimate of everything he would need for the job including the prices would ensure people know up front how much the repair would/should cost so they can budget accordingly. I think if he had taken that approach, it might've been a better experience. So now I am stuck with a laptop that runs slower because Windows 7 uses more memory and a laptop that can't be upgraded to more RAM. Basically, the last step which cost me almost $300 was not necessary. If you need something simple done like coming back from a system crash, he would be okay to use. Otherwise, for the bigger jobs, I recommend he provide a written estimate with the items he plans to do.
UPDATE: After posting this review, I received a number of text messages from Jim commenting on the bad review. I understand he is upset, but harassing someone about a review is not a good way to go. My review was honest and not meant to be mean, but to let those that use Angie's list get what they pay for...an honest review of someone's experience."

"The crawlspace of our house we purchased about a year ago was damp and often had standing water in it. Because the house is near a lake, the water table is very high and water is not uncommon. Unfortunately, all the standing water drove the humidity of the house very high to the 60s and 70s year round!
I contacted Stay Dry to give me an estimate along with another provider. Wayne from Stay Dry provide me with great information about the problem and how it could be solved. The cost of doing this work is not cheap, but the risk of damage to the structure of our home is what convinced me to move forward. In the winter, the window would have a great deal of condensation around them which isn't good for them either. The cost was on par with the other provide I met with, but this solution seemed more complete.
The work took about four days to complete. Stay Dry sent a great crew of five men, led by Spencer, who made residence in the three foot high crawl space for the next four days. First they lined the carpet and walls with protective materials. The entrance to the crawl space was in one of the bedroom, down a hall of white carpeting. Once lined the work began by clearing out all of the fallen insulation and any other random debris from down below. Next all of the wires were cleaned up and tidied up. All the debris had to be carried out in five gallon buckets through the house as there isn't external access to the space.
Next, they dug by hand a 110 feet of trench, lined it with fabric and then stone (stone was carried in a five gallon bucket at a time) and finally the drainage pipe itself. Once that was complete the entire space was lined with and sealed with a heavy duty liner (think swimming pool liner material). The crawlspace was unbelievably clean when they were finished. The liner is white so instead of dark sandy/mud floor, it was white liner. No more rain boots to go down in the space. The sumps were installed and set to drain to the exterior of the house.
The pumps that were installed have a battery back up as well as a system that will text me if there is a problem with the pumps. It also tells me the amount of water that is pumped out of the space each day. I am floored by how much it pumps!
When the work was done in January, it was too cold to do the final part of the job which was to foam the rim joists. The crew came back in April once it warmed up and completed the rest of the work.
Humidity in the house has dropped to the mid-30% range. The crawl space is actually usable for storage and going down there for wiring or mechanical work is a breeze. Once all of the protective materials were removed from the carpet and walls, everything was spotless. Everything was in the exact same shape as before the project.
The crew worked incredibly hard in what are not desirable conditions. The solution did everything I wanted it to do and everything Wayne said it would do. It is not inexpensive, but for the interior of our house and the overall health of our house, it was well worth it.
While I hope I don't have to ever do this project again, I would use Stay Dry again if I did.

"They enclosed my screens only porch with windows and built up the floor level w/ the sliding door. I also had them install new windows in the entire home. Excellent product, service and professional contractor. I also hired them for windows on my previous home 4 years ago."
