"E Stanley paving did a great job. Their representative Joe was friendly and professional and able to answer all our questions. They started the job within a few days of the initial visit. It entailed a lot more work than I thought. They had to bust up three sections of the driveway in order to make it level and get a proper base and had to raise a drain in the driveway. Due to many issues with the county grinder in our front yard that the county has had to excavate our driveway had sunk down 3 inches. They created a smooth surface level to the sidewalk and did a nice job on the edges. We couldn't be more thrilled."

"My wife and I couldn't be more pleased with our new asphalt driveway installed by AC Paving Company. The manager Joel was very knowledgeable and professional, and gave us a very fair offer to do the job. On the day the crew showed up to start the work I was completely blown away. They had a Calvary of 3 clean and shiny red trucks and equipment come rolling down my street all ready to start work. I was equally impressed watching the crew work so efficiently and quickly to remove the old asphalt, prepare the area, and install the new asphalt. They were done in less than 3 hours. Truly outstanding workmanship!! We would recommend them "hands down" to anyone looking to have their driveway replaced."

"It turned out beautifully. The demolition of my old driveway happened the same day I hired them. It sat looking like that for a while before they came to put down the new asphalt. The demo was on July 19 and the work was finished on August 2. That is probably normal however, I wish I would have had a clear path to walk between the piles of dirt and rocks. Looking back I think it would have been a good idea to put down some cardboard to walk upon. During the 2 weeks it rained a couple times and there was a lot of mud that my family walked through and made a mess of their shoes and the carpet in my cars and home. Of course that is no reflection on Blacktoppers, just an observation and a word to the wise."

"I informed the company that the driveway had to look exactly the same, per HOA rules. The company stamped the driveway with their logo. I saw the logo a couple hours after they left. I called them and asked them to repair it and they refused. I was also disappointed that the workers shoved all the trash they generated in the trenches they dug next to the driveway and then buried it."

"If you’re looking for a paving company, I would just stop reading any more reviews and call RSA. The company was responsive, professional and the work was top notch. The parking lot looked so good afterwards, the business owners called, sent pictures and were thrilled by how much better the area looked. We have a small commercial business in DC that needed the parking lot desperately paved. To call some areas pot holes would have been kind. We had hired another company and their work was dismal. No pride in workmanship whatsoever. I called RSA after reading their reviews. Scheduling an appt was a breeze. I can’t tell you how important this turned out to be because I had been stood up by no less than 3 paving companies at that point. They either cancelled at the last minute or didn’t show up. Rich showed up at the appointed time. He assessed the site, gave me an estimate and started work w/in the next few days. The crew was professional from what I heard and the work was done very well. One other note concerning the integrity of the company and their commitment to customer satisfaction. We agreed on a certain rate and at the last minute I asked him to install two small speed bumps before I left. In my mind, I didn’t assume any incremental expense (assumed it’d just a little bit of extra asphalt). When I received the bill there was an incremental charge. I contacted Rich about this fee and as soon as I mentioned this, he indicted he completely understood the confusion, he should have stated there was an incremental fee and removed the charge. I would 100% work with them again."

"Samco was one of the few companies to respond when I sent out inquiries recently about having my driveway (which was about 50+ years old) replaced. After some email contact, Sam Jr. and I got in touch, and he came out to give an estimate. Despite the age of the driveway, he said it was in decent condition and said there were 2 options. I could resurface the driveway at a cost of about $4.50 a square foot, or we could replace the driveway at an original cost of $7.00 a square foot. We went over the pros and cons of each option, and it made more sense (given the age of the driveway) to fully replace it. When he gave me the written estimate, he had knocked a bit of the cost off, and it was down to about $6.10 a square foot. He knew I had some other contractors scheduled, and was polite about it. Later that evening, he gave me a call, and since they were going to be in the area on a job, he was able to get the price down to about $5.00 a square foot. At that point, I jumped on the deal, as that price was only a minimal amount more than the resurfacing would have cost, and would last much longer than a resurfacing. Sam and the team showed up on time the day of the appointment and went over things one last time. Their work was professional and quick. They take care to ensure straight edges, and that cracks (such as between the garage, porch, and sidewalk and the driveway were filled in. They also elevated the driveway a touch as the grass line was higher that the original driveway. But there is still plenty of slope for the driveway as well. We got some strong storms last night (and overnight), but the driveway was bone-dry this morning, instead of the usual puddles and lakes that would form after a storm on the old driveway. I would peek out at them as they were working, and Sam was always fully involved working on something, including getting down on his hands and knees when needed to check a spot or correct something. Their clean up was just as thorough and professional, and Sam gave me all the information needed for letting the driveway cure given the hot days we've been having. All in all, I'm highly satisfied with the job they did, and would highly recommend them for any residential paving need."

"I contacted Goode Paving to request a quote on removing the 20+ year old concrete driveway on my elderly parent's home and installing asphalt.  The representative was very pleasant and provided a lot of information over the phone about the company and what they do.  They scheduled an estimate for the following day and the estimator showed up 10 minutes early.  I was concerned about proper water drainage, as they had a few problems with the current driveway, but he was knowledgeable about the proper technique to solve my problem. Their price was reasonable, about in the middle of the bids I received, but the main selling point was their professionalism.  Of the estimates I received (some only verbal, some written on the back of a business card) Goode Paving provided an incredibly professional presentation.  From the folder they provided with a host of information about the paving process, hiring a paving contractor, and caring for my driveway to their typed estimate, uniformed employees, and overall knowledge of the trade, I did not hesitate to put this job in their hands. On the day we scheduled to have the work completed they arrived on time and worked very efficiently, did everything they promised, and cleaned up effectively.  Now, nearly three weeks after the work was completed, the water is flowing as promised and the job looks excellent.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again. <br />"

"It was a pleasure working with this company. The BEST part about Greentrax is their proposal. It is thorough and complete listing EXACTLY what work will be done and any extras the customer has requested. I contacted 6 contractors for this job and each of the other 5 contractors sent me a proposal with about 5 lines. Kelly, the Office Administrative Assistant, send emails confirming everything = so you know what is going on at all times. She will also research questions for you and get back to you with the answer -timely. First, on the initial call, I asked if the old oil tank could be removed and that I have time to insulate under the back porch and paint (I wanted to hand paint the new oil tank) the new oil tank. The tank is 300 pounds and the fellow who came that on the "remove old oil tank and bring new oil tank and place on patio" day showed me the best way to position the tank and how to rotate it so all sides could be painted (he also attached the legs so they could be painted at the same time. I hired a local young man with lots of muscles to actually drop and lift the tank. The "lentils" (the cement pieces that go under the tank to make sure the tank stays LEVEL were also dropped off on that day. I paid for part of the job. Old tank removal /new tank drop off was on Oct 16, 2017. Kelly explained the sludge charge and assured me that all sludge is being handled according to regulations and in a way that protects the environment. PS. One of the other people who came out for an estimate told me that he would "cut the tank open and burn off the remaining oil". Since I am interested in environmental issues, I wanted to MAKE SURE that my job was handled in an environmentally sensitive way. I had a personal problem that tied up my schedule for 6 weeks, then the weather changed so I could not finish the under the porch work timely. When I called in late December 2017, the office was off for a week between Christmas and New Years and I got an early January installation appointment. The installation went smoothly. The job looks great. Greentrax honored the $2.00 / gallon price given to me in August or Sept 2017 - even though the price of oil has risen since then. The new oil filter for the new oil tank was suggested by the first guy that came to remove the old oil tank. It slipped both his mind and my mind that I wanted the new oil filter too. I called ON THE DAY OF THE INSTALLATION, told Kelly about the oversight. I agreed to the price and the new oil filter was installed = NO PROBLEM = the oil filter was picked up on the way to my job. In the picture, an orange covering is over the copper wire. As you can tell I am a very fussy woman. All Greentrax employees understood that I wanted to understand the process and make my own decision about what is best for my situation. At ALL junctures when a problem could have arose, none did. I whole heartedly recommend Greentrax. I also suggest that you paint the oil tank yourself. THE BEST PAINT is with Rust Scat, Polyurethane Enamel OIL BASE Black GLOSS. Purchase this paint (about $50.00/ gallon) at Budeke's Paint, 418 S Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231 . It is a COMMERICAL level painted used on bridges, has UV protection, and is HIGHLY Rated = brush application is better than roller. = 2 coats recommended and scuff first coat so second coat will adhere to the first coat. Read can instructions for the grade of sand paper to use. USE A RESPIRATOR WHEN USING THIS PAINT OUTDOORS. I did not and got sick for a couple of days; no problem after I put the respirator on (I do not like the way they feel on my face, so I only use a face mask or a respirator when absolutely necessary = it is necessary with this paint). The other hint from Husky Oil company = FILL YOUR OIL TANK AT THE END OF THE HEATING SEASON (APRIL OR MAY) to prevent condensation on the inside of your oil tank. Oil tanks rust from the inside out. Painting with good paint AND fill oil tank each year in April or May will protect your oil tank for years to come. I know that the additional research I did and the paint I used to protect the outside of the tank is going to extend the life of my oil tank for more than the 10 years warranty. The job looks great and I could not be more pleased."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Aberdeen, MD

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
