"We bought an old house and got a gift membership to Angie's List. Wortman Mechanical was the only people on, so we knew atleast they should be licensed and insured. Our driveway was pretty dark and creepy and our porch light was dead. We called and asked if we could get some quotes. Just quotes (first time home buyers, and pretty nervous and overwhelmed). They were pretty punctual, kind, and down to Earth. Brian himself did most of the quoting and estimating. Brian came out and we said we just wanted some lights on our driveway, we had already bought the lights we wanted and he said he could put them in right then and there and he did. Called his electric guy out, and up he went. His electric guy was very nice and professional, didn't seem to short <br /> cut anything even with the space restrictions of our attic. We brought Brian inside to show what we thought our next project should be. Our shower tile floor was cracked and the grout was in pieces. Come to find out the shower was leaking or had leaked (they showed us the water damage spots which we would NOT have noticed). He gave us a quote maybe a day later and a suggestion on how to fix our shower. And shortly after we got the funds, out they came and they ripped up only the bottom TO SAVE US MONEY. Each evening when we came home if the guys were still there, they'd explain their progress. The tile guy had some really great ideas with choosing a tile and a border to blend together the top half with the bottom half, it looks amazing and you really can't tell the tiles don't match.We have a lot of projects coming up and we're always saying and quot;We'll call Wortman for that.and quot; Never felt stupid while talking to them about home repair and they all seemed willing to make suggestions, not up-selling suggestions, but practical. They were inexpensive and quick. <br />"

"I signed the contract 10/23/19 with an expected pick up date by the end of the month. Heard on 10/30 that the transport had broken down and needed repairs. Talked to contact on 10/31 and reviewed alternative arrangements. Second transport option bailed out due to an emergency. Third option discussed. 11/05. I followed up and was told a driver was on the way. Pickup occurred 11/7 and delivery was 11/12. I paid extra for door to door service, but the transport could not navigate the residential streets, so pickup was in a mall parking lot. For the money paid, things could have gone more smoothly. Communication was okay, but given the starts and stops more wold have been better."

"We had Jay's do a cleaning of the house, repair some wood rot in the trim and front porch, and paint the trim. Finished product looked fantastic. In truth, after the cleaning they did I had actually thought they painted it looked so good. Jay was very easy to talk to and made sure to explain in detail everything he was going to do, as well as gave us things to look for as we proceeded to get quotes from either other painters, or for other household services we would be requiring. Every member of his crew was very professional and courteous. Couldn't even tell they were here after they were done, as no mess was left behind at all. Very pleased with the service and will definitely have Jay's in mind for the future when we want to have the whole house painted. <br />"

"Project went very well. Steve was incredibly responsive to messages and e-mails. Since the work was being done at a rental property coordination of site visits are always a little harder then normal but Steve handled it very well and was professional all of the time. Steve showed up when he said he would (for both the estimate visit and ultimately when he did the repair work to the kitchen cabinets and installed the new ventilation hood). I would definitely use him and his firm again for projects in the house."

"I bought a deal from Walls Electrical in May 2014. It was $99 for $200 worth of electrical services. We could not figure out why our powder room lighting would not come on even after replacing bulbs, checking breakers, and resetting GFCIs. A Walls technician came out and figured out that the lights were controlled by a small transformer that was connected into an outlet in the adjoining closet. Somehow we had unplugged the transformer without realizing it. Problem solved. The technician then replaced the lighting fixture that my husband had taken apart while investigating the matter a few days prior. While he was replacing the fixture, I handed the technician a circular metal piece that belonged in the fixture. The technician adamantly said that the metal piece did not belong. I had my doubts, but I deferred to his judgement since he is the professional. Well, a day later, that fixture stopped working and when we investigated, we saw that the bulb had burned out the plastic part of the fixture, because the metal piece had not been replaced.  <br /> I immediately called Walls to let them know what happened. At first, they were very prompt in responding to my complaint. I sent pictures, they said they were working on it. Then weeks passed and nothing happened. I called and was told that the person who was handling my account was having health issues and that someone else would get on it. Weeks passed again and nothing happened. I called and was told that my contact person wasn't with the company anymore and somehow I had fallen through the cracks. They were very apologetic. It wasn't until late Fall that a technician was sent out to rectify the situation. They had to replace all 3 lights in the powder room and the product they brought (the closest match they said they could find) and the way it was installed just didn't have the beautiful flush finish that my previous fixtures had.  <br /> Needless to say, a very simple issue turned into a huge waste of my time and energy. I'm happy they finally rectified the situation, but it took way too long and the end product left a lot to be desired. <br />"
