"I met the owner of this company over three years ago. I responded to an advertising campaign that he was participating in via  local print/online newspaper company.  I knew that the back yard needed a lot of TLC which included major cleanup of leaves and old grass cuttings from years gone by.
We agreed on the work that needed to be done which included, trimming of the front decorative spiral evergreen bushes; adding new annuals and some perennials as well.  The back yard required the aforementioned work, along with the trimming of of thick bordering green bushes that line the entire back yard.
Between the back and front yard areas, this company provided the grounds with a much- needed makeover!!!
The key with this company is that the owner, Wil Persons LISTENS completely to your requests and ideas.  I felt as though we were collaborating together as a team to achieve the end result that I was hoping for!  Since that time, I have hired this company intermittently for projects.
He and his crew are very reliable and the pricing is also very competitive for the services that were complete  As a result, 1620 Property Services LLC currently provides me with b-weekly lawn maintenance.
****ADDED BONUS!  1620 Property Services LLC provides interior and exterior painting services.  I will be asking for an interior painting quote for the upstair rooms in my home this week!  I have complete trust in Wil Persons and in his company, 1620 Property Services LLC. and would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone that is looking for professional work done at very affordable and competitive prices.
Thank-you very much 1620 Property Services LLC, and I look forward to working with you in the future!

"I can not say enough good things about Mike Collins.
He and his staff are professional, wonderful and he goes the extra mile.
He transformed the front of our house which was overgrown from 25+ years of planting to a place we are now happy to come home to!
Neighbors were gawking the whole day.
We have already hired him to return 3 times per year for maintenance and we expect to do some hardscaping with him either later in the fall or early spring.

FAQs for trees & shrubs treat, protect and maintain projects in Abington, MA

The optimal transplanting season depends on your tree species, but most trees respond best when moved during dormancy. For deciduous trees, late fall after leaf drop or early spring before bud break provides the lowest stress periods. Evergreens transplant better in early fall or late summer when soil temperatures remain warm enough for some root growth. Avoiding transplanting during active growth periods helps trees direct energy toward establishing new roots rather than supporting foliage.

While technically, trees of any size can be transplanted with the right equipment and expertise, practical considerations limit what's reasonable for most homeowners. Trees with trunk diameters under 15 inches are most commonly transplanted in residential settings. Success rates decline as trees increase in size and age, with specimens over 24 inches in diameter presenting significant challenges and costs. For large trees, carefully weigh the substantial investment against the potential benefits and survival probability.

Most transplanted trees require one to two years to fully establish in their new location, with larger specimens often needing additional time. During this establishment period, the tree regenerates roots that were inevitably lost during the move. Signs of successful establishment include normal seasonal growth patterns, healthy leaf development, and reduced dependence on supplemental watering. The quality of aftercare during this critical period significantly influences long-term survival rates.

Self-transplanting is feasible for small trees with trunk diameters under two to three inches if you have proper tools and follow correct techniques. However, medium to large trees require professional expertise and specialized equipment to ensure tree survival and property protection. While professional services cost more initially, they achieve much higher success rates and prevent potential damage to your property or the tree itself. The investment in professional services often proves worthwhile when considering the value of mature trees.
