From our initial consultation with Matt (owner) to working with John (job manager) to Angel (foreman, master builder) every part of this project went according to plan. There were literally no hiccups and at no time did I feel like I was not part of the build. Watching Angel and his guys efficiently create our new deck with skill and care was a pleasure. We had a few quirky additions, to include removable hatches for access to hot tub side panels, a small divider to offer separation from a nearby grill, as well as creating more space - yet closure - around the base of an avocado tree within the deck - all were done in a thoughtful and elegant manner. I was always able to effectively communicate what idea I had in my head and Angel took that info and executed the job perfectly. The work was quick, but expertly and efficiently done. Initially, we were told our build would be 'end of April' - but with some creative scheduling by John (always inquiring very respecfully and never with any pressure) we were able to be slotted in and our build was done ahead of schedule. Let's be frank - hiring a contractor for any job is always stressful because we are conditioned to expect the worst. In truth, these projects - given how much money is spent - should be a gift. The Yourdeckbuilder team made our experience an absolute pleasure - and most importantly we love the final product."

"Fire victims: Beware of construction company tactics hindering your recovery by delaying project completion & prevent you from obtaining the Certificate of Occupancy that is required to obtain a refinance loan after a fire. Please verify credentials of anyone working on your project is fully licensed with the Contractors State License Board, provide their legal name (not an alias), & operate from a legitimate business address rather than a P.O. box. Avoid contractors who rely on subcontractors, as they may attempt to shift blame. Never take loan or financing advice from them. Insist on written contracts & keep detailed email records of all communications & agreements. Make sure they comply with state & federal laws, especially asbestos. In my case, Joseph Sastiel abandoned my project for the loan to default. Thank GOD I am still in my home to defend myself & my family. Finally, our trial is 12/1/2025. Despite his attorney?s threats to appeal, I look forward to seeking justice."

"Worst experience ever. Extremely unorganized, didn't communicate timelines properly or project expectations, missed every deadline, and had to redo a portion of the work. There were several mishaps throughout the project, and we feel that we were lied to in terms of their expertise. Our built-in bench, the dimensions were off, my feet dangled when I sat down , and the finishing was so horrible that we had to call and pay a professional plaster guy to redo their work. The door they installed didn’t shut properly, the paint was uneven & the walls were cracking. They moved our gas lines for the furnace and didn't hook up the gas properly before they enclosed the walls. They threw our custom crown moulding in our bedroom in the dump during the demo, and had to get it custom made again, and it's not an exact match. They didn’t separate the electrical lines or add new lines during the remodel but added to our existing lines which caused a short circuit and our lights to flicker for weeks."
