"On 3/25, Mark showed up on time. It took about 45 minutes, as the entire over-the-stove unit had to be taken down. I had to assist, for which Martin Appliance gave us a discount. In addition to replacing the magnetron, he also replaced a high-capacity diode (included with the magnetron), which I wasn't expecting. Mark explained that when a magnetron fails, there could also be damage to the diode. No sense in having it work for a little while, then that fails, too. Made sense to me. <br /> Absolutely no problems with the job Mark did. Thoroughly cleaned up after himself. Our microwave is in perfect working order now. The final bill was less than the quote, at $277.00, so I was very pleased with that and glad I had decided to fix it. A comparable new microwave I looked at was $400.00 installed.
