"This story starts with the estimate.  Mitch and George came to our house to give us an estimate.  They answered all of our questions and, while it is not in our nature to do this, we accepted their estimate during the visit.  We believed they were honest, sincere, knowledgeable and experienced.  We also felt they gave us a really good price. 
Two days later, I was second guessing myself.  I was worried about the hasty decision we'd made and reviewed the paperwork.  I worried that perhaps an error had been made in the specifications because the price really was a good one.  I was right at the 3-day cancellation limit and honestly, freaked out a bit.  I put a stop payment on the deposit check.  Then I called Mitch.  He called me back right away.  He assured me that I was getting what I thought I was getting.  He wrote in the missing specs on contract and emailed me a copy of the corrected contract.  He even wrote in an upgraded glass because he wanted to make sure I was happy (I didn't hold him to it.)  I felt bad about the stop payment I put on the check.  He said not to worry about it and said I didn't owe him a dime until the job was complete.  (How nice was that??)
When the windows came in, the installation went great.  It took two days.  The two men (Nick and Carl--I think I have that right) who installed the windows did an exceptional job.  They were a pleasure to have around.  They were neat and tidy.  The used the special exterior trim we'd purchased and made sure the windows were watertight and solid (they had to replace one rotted sash).  I really can't say enough about them.  They didn't just figure out how to use the trim.  They figured out the best way to use the trim.  I felt like they treated our house like their own.
After the installation, I found I couldn't lock the slide-down screens in place.  George came out to check it and couldn't get them to lock either.  He had a Pella warranty guy come out.  He showed me that it just took a little more force when the windows were brand new.  All in all, our experience with Thermal Window and Siding was exceptional in every way.  I would recommend them to others and will use them to replace the remaining windows in my house.  They are very responsive to the customer."

"Work was done over the course of a 5-week period of time. Had to order two new windows from Pella, lead time was about 4 weeks. In the meantime, painting of old windows took about a week (one painter on-site). This was done in mid-March.  Our painter, Eric Peace, was very careful, courteous and professional. He did a terrific job. Very pleased with quality of the paint job. He also sanded and re-stained the wood accent trim. We did this before replacing the old carpet. Wood trim looks much better and accents the new carpet quite nicely.
New windows subsequently arrived in early April and were installed on a Saturday afternoon in about 4 hrs using 3 people. Work was switched to a Saturday to beat the predicted rain and to take advantage of better weather. Installation went smoothly....very pleased with the quality of the windows purchased and their installation.
Eric showed up the following Tuesday to prime and paint the new windows to match the others. Looks great. Project now complete.
Would not hesitate to recommend Home Improvement Co. and use them again if needed.
