"After reviewing several proposals, we hired them to pave our community storage lot driveway. They did an excellent job and did more than we asked for. Our community has used them before for street repairs with equally excellent results. "

"We chose O'Neil's Paving because they were highly rated on Angie's List and because they had a very competitive bid. They did the work in two days!"

"Very responsive. High quality work from Marcus. Only issue was the date of the work - used them for two projects, and both times the execution date was pushed 1-3 days from what was originally communicated. "

"Tony Atkins came out personally to look at the drive way and give us an estimate. Another company came out but left without giving the estimate. Tony gave us the estimate on the spot and calculated some extras we wanted done. His price was far better than others and included a list of extras that the other companys didn't include. <br /> When Antoine showed up with the crew and did the site work, I was amazed at the skill, professionalism and speed at which he completed the work. When I showed Antoine a spot that I didn't think was level, he redid the work with no comment. I think that Antoine is a "magician" with the skidsteer. <br /> After the new gravel base settled for a day, a mammoth crew showed up with the paving equipment and stayed all day and into the evening until they were done. I am very please with this company and I will recommend them to all my friends and neighbors for their quality work. <br /> Thank you Tony, Paul and Antoine for your great work. <br />"

We have over 5 employees, we are a small business. Our billing procedures are as follows; we have contracts for our clients to sign and we ask that before we do any work to meet and greet our customers first. We make sure our customers come first and we are always on time. Our prices are based on the size of the job and the material needed for the job: Asphalt, Seal Coat, Concrete, Grading, and striping.

"Structural engineer (not CFS) was great, met me and the crew there first day. The crew lead tried to change the engineer's plans. Fortunately, that didn't happen. On 1st day, engineer made it clear that photos of the exposed repair were required prior to covering back up with dirt. That didn't happen until I reminded crew lead, who had some excuse about his phone battery. And they had to dig it back up. Debris cleanup was only done after I said something. Straw wasn't put down as they didn't bring any, and I lost energy to make that happen. In short, be prepared to baby sit."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Albemarle, NC

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
