"hired Chimney and Duct Experts based on their reviews on Google and Angis list to address a potential problem with a roof leak near my chimney. They quickly determined the flashing of my chimney was probably the reason for the leak, so they gave me a quote to rebuild the chimney flashing for $1300. They were able to do the work that same day, which I thought was great. However, the leak continued, so I moved on to roofers to help figure out the problem. I had 5 different roofing and repair companies come out, and each one said that the flashing on the chimney was terribly done, using a sealant instead of metal step flashing as is standard. I called back Chimney and Duct Experts and spoke with a supervisor. He agreed to come and redo the flashing, but insisted that fully rebuilding the flashing is only done when you get a new roof. Ended up being incorrectly done again, and I'll have to pay someone now to fix it correctly."

We explained the mold issue to Jim who thought that condition to be highly unlikely. Jim “opened” the air duct system in several places. We saw only tiny hints of mold, nothing which resembled Russel’s photos or would require remediation. Our son knows of a person in the heating business who thinks that the conditions “found” are unlikely and further suggested that, if the mold was that bad, the air ducts would need to be replaced rather than remediated.
