"We contracted with Mottern about 10 years ago to have a retaining wall built to replace a poorly constructed wall holding up the driveway. The wall was block on footer and it has held beautifully. When we original had the wall built, we decided against covering it with decorative stone. Jeff told us at the time that they would come back and add it if we ever changed our mind. Here we are ten years later deciding to add the stone. We called Mottern because the wall they built has had no issues (previous iterations of the wall had plenty of issues). The stone covering job was done quickly and professionally and looks great. If you're looking for quality, Mottern is for you."

"The cement on our slate patio was cracking and in need of attention. Mr. Sanchez and his crew did a great job of grinding out the old cement, stabilizing the stones where necessary and putting in new cement. The crew was efficient and polite. The job was finished on time and for a fair price, IMO. Before and after photos (of one small area) attached. [One note: The grinding out of the old cement created a signigicant amount of dust. much of which went into the adjacent garden. My wife was/is concerned this will affect the chemistry of the soil, thereby affecting the health of her plants. Just be aware.] Highly recommend."

"Well they have done another wonderful job! We are so impressed. We added a 30' X 6' upper level flagstone patio with 30 inch stone wall bracing the hill. In addition we added a flagstone walkway and steps. Four years ago CM Hardscapes built a flagstone patio and firepit on the right side of the hill. This year we had them add the new patio to the left side of the hill at a higher level with the pathway and steps to connect the two patios. Bill knew exactly what we wanted working from our excel drawn diagram. Jesus as supervisor worked with us on the details, listening to our considerations on critical parts of the project and adjusted accordingly if needed. His whole team executed it well and timely. It took them about 2 1/2 weeks from start to finish. Manuel and his son Daniel laid the flagstone and were well experienced in their craft. They were easy to work with throughout the process. Manuel helped us work through some of the key design questions such as the patio border and related structural questions. We appreciated his expertise. We highly recommend this company. "Early this year, I had a structural engineer at my house to assess what needed to be done to repair my retaining wall to extend its life for at least another 10 years. I took his recommendations, and then selected several contractors from AL to give estimates, one of which was Xtra Care. I met with four contractors in total. CJ, Project Manager, came right out and walked the entire length of the wall with me. This is a monster wall (for a private residence) consisting of 6x6x6 wooden posts. After meeting with CJ, I was convinced that they could do this job. I called Mari at the office and scheduled the work for the 3rd week of August, which was several months away. The fact that they were booked months in advance is obviously a good sign. I then called back the structural engineer and told him who I selected to do the work. When I mentioned Xtra Care, he said simply, "They're good...I've worked with them before." Good sign # 2. Due to the heavy rains in August, the job was pushed back a few times, which happens and is not a problem. Mari always emailed me with updates daily, and CJ always promptly replied to any calls or texts from me. Once the guys started, it was done in a few days as promised. They did exactly what we contracted for, and a little more. CJ also came back to the job to do a final walk through. The work turned out better than we could have imagined. We are very happy with the work, and the $4,750 was more than fair for what was done. And, the awesome communication was an added benefit. We would definitely hire Xtra Care in the future.
