"Retired carpenter here. Purchased new heat pump and furnace in 2020 from Sunset heating and cooling. It stopped working after 5 years. We have had 2 different techs out to look at it. They can't fix it. But they did offer a $2000 to $4000 fix for us. On a fixed income. This is robbery. "

"ACS installed a new Bryant heat pump + furnace. The equipment is high quality and the team was knowledgeable, flexible, and willing to answer all my questions. They accommodated a change in scope on the day of install from just installing a heat pump to installing a furnace + heat pump combo. This set the team back a few hours for the last minute parts request, but they powered through a very long day and stayed until the job was finished. All customer service goes directly through the owner operator. Originally this seemed like a plus, but I think they would benefit from support staff. I needed to edit and downgrade this review after a few negative experiences. Some changes are related to issues noticed after the install. The unit was not secured to the pad outdoors and also was not attached to the house. Holes cut into the corner of the garage slab in order to pass through the lines were not patched, leaving a break in the envelope. Mark promised to follow up on both of these, but he did not send anyone out to take care of this. Mark also directly promised that our install would qualify for Energy Trust of Oregon incentives for $3000, when in fact it is clear after speaking directly with Energy Trust representatives that our install did not qualify for any amount of rebate. This promise was echoed throughout the quote and the install process. I believe that the lack of a support staff is causing some shortcutting or disorganization when it comes to managing some of these details - I would prefer to assume that ACS did not know the details of the incentive rather than that they purposefully deceived me, but I dont feel comfortable recommending them given these circumstances."

Indoor air quality is one concern that homeowners have when they decide to investigate air duct cleaning. Your heating and cooling system is the lungs of your home. The system takes air in and breathes air out. Through normal occupation in a home, we generate a great deal of contaminants and air pollutants, such as dander, dust, and chemicals. These contaminants are pulled into the HVAC system and re-circulated 5 to 7 times per day, on average. Over time, this re-circulation causes a build-up of contaminants in the duct work. While dirty ducts don’t necessarily mean unhealthy air in your home, school or workplace, they may be contributing to larger health issues or harboring contaminants that could cause serious problems for people with respiratory health conditions, autoimmune disorders or some environmental allergies.

"  I was afraid to sleep with the AC at night because I didn't trust the air from the vents. In the past we had it cleaned but the companies who did the work never really cleaned all the way through. They just cleaned a few feet from the register.  This last hot spell motivated me to find someone who would do the job right. I did my homework and searched all the usual places and checked for reviews, ratings and complaints with BBB.  The time I spent was well worth it. I decided on Matt Jeppesen from Power Vac LLC. He arrived and in his no-nonsense way attacked the job. My husband and I were impressed with his tools and attitude. He did such a thorough job, I could immediately tell how much cleaner my air was.
