"Excellent! Tim Sith, the owner, did most of the work himself since the sons had moved on to other things.  He did have an assistant whom he was training and all work was very well done and timely.  The stain was very heavy duty to deal with Alaska conditions and was applied in two coats, with the second applied while the first was still tacky.  This allowed the second coat to bond with the first and dry to a very tough finish.  Had the first coat dried completely, the second would not have penetrated the wood due to the protective nature of the first coat.  We are very pleased with the results. <br />"

"We did not use Restoration Painting for our exterior painting project because his estimate was $2100-$3500 higher than the other estimates we recieved (4 total estimates) . The cost difference could not be explained by the preparation of the house, number of coats, painting technique (spray and back rolled each coat) , quality of paint or primer used or the incidental repairs we discussed. We liked Steve, but just couldn't use him for that cost when there were other painters offering a similiar quality service for less. <br /> I had a conversation with another highly recommended local painter who was familiar with my house and he said a house my size and condition is typically in the +/-$6000 range. I would have hired that guy, but he didn't respond to my phone message requesting an estimate (he had accidently deleted the message and realized it later when he was cleaning out the deleted messages on his phone, which is when he called me to apoloigize for not responding to my message). <br /> I suppose we should have called Steve and asked him to clarify why his estimate was so high. Maybe he would have revised it or given a good explanation about what he was offering that was worh that much more money. Somehow I think he is charging more based on his reputation, but I can't afford to pay that much extra money just for a name. <br /> The painter I did hire was competent (although a little bit of a a stress queen and difficult to deal with personality). Now my house has a good coat of paint on it that will protect it and last for several years. <br />"

"Nathan and team were excellent and provided us with some great ideas for a deck replacement.  He and his team did excellent work removing the old deck and putting up a new one.  Nathan designed some beautiful built-in benches for the deck as well.  And the deck is built for Alaska.  Rather than place the deck on some concrete support beams (which will eventually sink and heave), it is supported by concrete piling that goes over 5 feet into the ground.  Very happy with the job! <br />"

FAQs for concrete floor coating apply projects in Anchorage, AK

Epoxy flooring is a two-part coating made from synthetic resins and a hardener that bonds to concrete to create a continuous, durable surface. Once cured, the coating resists impacts, moisture, and most household chemicals, making it a practical choice for garages, basements, and workshops. It also creates a uniform, easy-to-clean finish that looks more polished than bare concrete without requiring ongoing waxes or sealers.

With proper care and maintenance, solvent-based and solid residential epoxy flooring can last 10 to 20 years, while water-based epoxy flooring lasts three to five years. Water-based epoxy is less durable, making it more susceptible to regular wear and tear. Commercial epoxy concrete flooring that experiences heavy foot traffic may only last two to three years.

Maintaining epoxy garage floors is relatively easy. You can sweep up dirt and debris with a broom, dustpan, or vacuum cleaner, then use a mild cleaning solution intended for epoxy floors to scrub away stains. Avoid using soap-based or chemical cleaners. Mopping an epoxy garage floor regularly with warm water can do the trick.
