"This was a big project, basically needed to re-do flooring in most of our 2000 sq home. We had gotten a few estimates, but did not have a comfort level with anyone we had dealt with. We met Josh at Home and Garden show, and were immediately impressed with his professionalism and level of experience. He spent a lot of time with us in the showroom to assure that we got the most for our money. Prices were very competitive. The installation crew was equally wonderful. They actually started a day early and finished early as well. Good luck finding that these days. The workers took great care of our furniture and left the house spotless. Anyway, FloorGurus are highly recommended. They make a big project painless!"

"They were very good. I like the way they did my carpeting. I felt like I got a fair deal. They are very courteous. They do good work. I'd say it took most of the day. You are talking hours. They were excellent. I don't know of anything they could improve on. It took them all day. I don't think they got done until 5 or 6 at night. They did an excellent job. I love my carpeting. When I get ready to do my other rooms, I'll go back to them."

"The process took 2 days due to only having one person available the first day. Jimmy did the measures/layouts of padding and carpet and completed the first master bedroom. Second day, Jimmy, Brian and Dillon completed the remaining rooms (guest bedroom, 2nd master bedroom, living room, loft area and closets). With efficiency, they moved some misc. items. There were a couple places missed in cleaning up debris, but overall, they did a great job and the carpet looks wonderful with our freshly painted walls. Note: Shane Graham - sales associate was very helpful when entering Michael's Flooring (and assisted in selecting the carpet for our needs. He also gave carpet sample pieces to assist in color choice. Purchased carpet Jun. 14, and it was installed on Jun. 25/26."

"They were fantastic. I think they also do hardwood flooring and carpets. They provided quality products and they were very professional. The person was very helpful. He let me take samples to the house for me to see how the they looked in the daytime. He was wonderful. He did 890 sq. feet. He didn?t do the bathroom. The project cost me $6470. He wasn?t cheap, but his quality was good. He finished the work within a day and a half. He left my furniture exactly the way I had it, except maybe a little better. My flooring looks incredible today. It is awesome. I will use them again in the future."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Anderson, SC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
