John heard a small vacuum leak in the wellhead, which probably caused the pump to lose prime and run dry. They replaced the leaky pipe and installed a new pump to replace the 17 year old pump that failed. John is an expert in all things well, and it was inspiring to see him and his son working together to solve our problem!"

He was very responsive via email as we worked to schedule a time for his crew to come do the work, which was mainly water tank and heating system maintenance. Brian brought Jim promptly and explained the work. They then pointed out a couple of things that they recommended replacing, one they just included in the original cost estimate and another they added on due to additional parts being purchased. "Had a pinhole leak in a copper pipe, in tight quarters. Found Doug on the internet, he picked up the call. Told me he'd call me back to discuss that evening... and actually did (a rarity). Had me text pictures and based on those figured out the approach and said he'd come the next day. Came when he said he would and fixed the problem inside of an hour. Pricing was absolutely reasonable. Was happy to chat about a couple of other potential projects I had. In a world where it's difficult to find reliable skilled trades, I have nothing but the highest recommendation for Doug."

"When they called (after I assume HomeAdvisor contacted them), I was told it would cost $89 to come out to give me an estimate. I had no problem with that but tried to get some rough estimate on how much a straightforward replacement of faucet would cost - but no estimate. When the plumber arrived, he first tried to get me to join some membership in order to get some percentage reduction in the cost (but I still had no idea of that cost). Bottom line was that the cost was over $600 for one hour of work. I will add that the plumber did an excellent job so I have no issues with their work. It is more about how they charge for their work. Next time, I will either find someone that is willing to charge by the hour or is willing to provide free estimates."
