The estimated 3 day schedule was 2.5 days including clean-up. The team was completely professional! They came in on day 1 and laid out tarps and drop clothes to protect my windows, shrubs, and siding. They laid down wood under the dumpster not to damage my driveway which is sometimes forgotten by other contractors. The team completed the strip and new installation in the time estimated. "It isn't very often that you deal with a contractor and can enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. So many contractors can sell you a bill of goods, do the job, only to never be heard from again. It has happened to me more times than I can count throughout the years. Jim Del Prete, the owner of Beantown Home Improvement, is a stand-up guy. He is what we growing up in Boston used to call "a straight shooter." We had our whole house's natural wood shingles replaced with Certainteed Polymer shingles (the 5 inch straight-edged kind) with the half-round shingles on one dormer. We also had 3 basement windows, a basement door, a porthole window, and 2 skylights replaced, all with composite material. The individuals that work for Jim are so hard-working. They came during light rain, cold wind, and a few super-hot days. They never complained and showed up every morning at around 8A and left in the late afternoon. If we found something that we didn't understand or that bothered us, Jim answered our texts and emails almost immediately. I sometimes called (not often) and Jim picked up his cell right away. The biggest take-away is that Jim is responsive to the nth degree. As I stated in the beginning - no sleepless nights. But I want to tell you the best part. My husband served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp. What a pleasure to find out that Jim honors our nation's veterans in the most tangible of ways. He doesn't say "thank you for your service" he says "I will take 20% off the bill as my gratitude for your service." What do you think about that? So, you will be dealing with an honorable and obviously patriortic American who values you as a customer and a person who has served our country. The cost of the job is competitive, but don't be fooled by a lower bid. You want the best materials with a knowledgeable crew. And - Jim comes back. If you notice a few very minor things, they are fixed promptly, even after the final payment is made. The contract states a third down, a third when the crew shows up, and a third when the crew is competely finished. Like I said, don't worry if you find something later, it will get fixed. This is nothing for Beantown to come back, and he takes the worry away from you. Jim will be able to furnish us as a reference if you want to chat about our experience. We didn't know it at the time, but 2 of our neighbors had already hired him. I sought out a 5 star rated contractor from Home Advisor. Now, the house looks inviting and I have his sign still up on my lawn.Several neighbors have been over to take a look and ask a ton of questions. It is my belief that Jim should hear from a few soon. We are people who want to relax now after years of hard work and not have to paint or touch the outside of the house. We just can't be thinking about maintenance anymore and this was just the solution for us. Do yourself a favor. Call Jim. Ask him dozens of questions. Take the first step into a hassle-free experience. And remember, fear not. Jim will not desert you - from the beginning, middle,end or after. He will respond to you in a considerate, respectful manner."

"This started as a relatively small repair, complicated by some water damage over the years. Required replacing two sheets of plywood, ice and water barrier, shingles, removal and reinstall of the vinyl and fascia. Tar Star was upfront with their suspicions and analysed the situation correctly. As it turned out later, they were correct with their predictions. The root cause was improperly installed shingles in one section of the roof, which were cut too short, which caused the water and ice accumulating under, eventually making its way to the board and rotting it out. The job took one day overall, split up in two parts, Sunday and Monday. I provided part of the material (shingles). The actual cost was in the estimated range. Tar Star provided good recommendations, conducted the repair efficiently, without unnecessary work or upsell, focusing on quality, longevity, and cost efficiency. I know I will have to replace the roof at some point, probably when installing solar equipment. This bought me a few more years for my old roof, which is what I wanted. Overall, nice guys. Recommended!"

"Met with 5 different roofers for an estimate, but these guys were the most thorough, very cool technology for us to see video of our roof, inside the attack view, so we could see what was needed. Kyle, our rep, was very knowledgeable and didn't try to sell us on things we didn't need, worked to make it affordable for our options. Then Justin and the crew came and did an awesome job replacing the roof in one day. Highly recommend!"

"We had a great experience with On Top Roofing. They returned my call for a quote request within one day and had someone out to give an estimate within a couple of days after that. We obtained several estimates, On Top was the only company that actually climbed up on a ladder to really look at the area of concern and where work needed to be done during the estimate. After we received the quote, the work was done within the scheduled time and completed as agreed. I would definitely consider On Top again for future roofing needs."

"Kyle and crew were good. There were some minor damages from the roofing work which they fixed: 2 window screens replaced and did a paint touch up on my brown gambrel tile that was scraped. Also came back to replace one side of rake flashing on one side of the house and tightened the other side to complete all roofing work. "I've lived in my old house for nearly 20 years. Every few years, slates could come off, or we'd need something fixed. I've struggled to find a good roofer who will do slate work and do it well. The last couple repairs were done with the wrong type of slate (color mismatch) and adding copper hangers everywhere. I just thought that this was the best I was going to get. I checked out the reviews of Doherty Roofing and I had to try again. Jason is a REAL professional. Self-proclaimed perfectionist who cares deeply about his work. He came out a few times to ensure that he sourced the right type of slate (a near perfect match!) and fixed all this repairs from years passed. As we worked, he explained his approach. I learned a lot about slate work - and even my house - from talking with him. He also installed copper snow bars to keep snow from the front walk. I *cannot* recommend Jason more highly."

"Ramon and his company did an excellent job for us in putting on a new roof on our large, complex, old, shingle style Victorian house. The proposal was comprehensive and delivered quickly. We negotiated a few points and then went ahead. Ramon stuck to every detail of the proposal and his crew showed up on time to start the job. They appeared to be an experienced, excellent, hard working crew that knew exactly what they were doing. They started early each day and worked till after dark. And, Ramon's brother, Wilson, who was in charge of the crew, kept me informed through the whole process. They finished our very complex roof in just 2.5 days. The roof looks great and everything was cleaned up and back to normal by the third day."

"We had Power do our Roof and Gutters on our 120 year old home. This is our first big project on our new house and Power made the experience great. Their were a couple of hiccups but Power was able to rectify the situations. The project was supposed to be a 2 day project, but when taking the old shingles off they noticed the roof decking needed to be repaired because of significant wood rot. They finished the total project in 4 days. Power met every expectation. One part of the process that was a little frustrating was that I didn’t have one point person to talk to if I had questions. I had multiple project managers but I did get all my questions answered when I called. We would definitely recommend them to anyone."
