"Gary Hagerman made the estimate for the complete repairs on the day he promptly came out to assess my porch. I liked the price he quoted and liked the explanation he gave regarding what he intended to do. He provided me a written estimate with all tasks detailed and estimated that he could start the project within two weeks. He actually was able to begin earlier than that and called me to ask if that would be OK. He completed the porch inside of two days. The work and cleanup was performed exceptionally well. I intend to use this company again for other projects."

"All of the work was performed by skilled carpenters and workmen. They were knowledgeable and answered my questions in a very professional manner. The job foreman, although not a constant presence, consulted with me or my wife very frequently. The owner of the company made at least weekly, and sometimes more often visits. Both he and his foreman readily responded to the rare phone questions that I had(have). All of the debris that was generated during the project was cleaned and disposed of a timely manner. I have posted before and after exterior pictures on my fb page! EdwardDocMahoney, my facebook name."

"I was needing to replace some hardwood flooring that had broken due to my children being children. After having a couple other contractors come out they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for tear out and reinstall, all for about six boards. I saw Stephen's business and decided to give him a call. Being a veteran myself I always want to give a fellow vet an opportunity if i am able. Stephen came out in a timely manner and was able to replace the six boards that were damaged from my leftover stock in a very short amount of time. His prices were extremely reasonable and he was very patient with all my questions. He was polite, respectful, courteous, patient with my nosey children, his attention to detail was second to none, and he left the area in better shape than when he arrived. In the future if I have any other projects I need done he will be the first phonecall I make. Thanks Stephen!"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Anna, IL

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
