"Steve Pontius made several concrete repairs to my porches. He replaced the wooden steps on my back porch. He also did several smaller jobs and checked my rain gutters. He cleaned, sanded and painted railings with a high quality paint. Steve has integrity and does a great job for a fair price. I will surely hire Steve Pontius Landscaping and Repairs in the future for additional projects to be done around my home!"

"Bob called to setup a free consultation and came to our house to provide a fair estimate (time and cost) and walked us through his plan. He called back a few days later with his start date and showed up exactly when he said he would. His work is amazing. He was finished on time and the project came in on budget. He is a professional and a hard worker that is dedicated to his craft."

"my first call was answered within fifteen minutes and he came the next day and gave me an estimate but couldn't give me a start time because of works in progress and the constant rainy weather.  He called me the next day with the price which i thought was good as was the quality of the materials he showed me the day before.   I accepted over the phone and said i'd wait until he could do it. I like the fact that he did the work himself, had pictures of jobs he had done and was very forthright.   A few weeks later I arrived home to find him and a helper dismanteling the existing fence.  They removed every trace of it, dug up the concrete post holes and hauled everthing away.  After that they came back laid out a new fence, dug new post holes and installed new post anchored in concrete three feet down.  the following day they were finished.  everything was cleaned up so well that you wouldn't have known they were there.  great job, great service, hard working guys.  We also signed a contract for the work and there was a warranty on the material.   He told me if there were any problems to give him a call.   I was lucky to get them."

"Very pleased with quality of work. Drywall repairs are perfect and cannot be detected. Two coats of paint on ceiling and walls. There were many windows. No paint on woodwork. Very professional! Two days and they were done!"

"My parents had a Sunroom installed in 2004. The roof has been leaking; I have caulked and recaulked to no avail. My father has Alzheimer's, and went through that tearing up stage of all the paperwork, so I had no idea of who installed the Sunroom. I called Bitner who refused to take my phone number, stating that they don't repair someone elses work. I called Great Additions who never returned my phone calls. <br /> I called Blakeslee Home Improvement, and Robert Valenti wasted no time in coming out on 8/8/2012. He investigated the problem, and informed me that the roof was finished. The original company who did the installation of the Sunroom never bothered to put sheeting or roofing tiles on the roof, also never bothered to connect the downspout from the house to the Sunroom. They just took advantage of my elderly parents, and ran with the money. <br /> He informed me of their heavy schedule, but would fit us in. He did, within a few weeks he and his crew were out to repair the roof that another company never wasted their time to finish. It's looks wonderful, they even matched the tiles to the roof of the house. <br /> This company is AWESOME. If you want good / great/ excellant work done, give them a call. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Archbald, PA

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
