Small jobs welcome

"Nicole and her crew did excellent, on-time work on both the roof repair as well as the rebuilding of our front porch and several side projects. She was communicative, attentive, and timely. I will definitely use Adonai again for anything our house might need. You will not go wrong here."

"Robert performed my Master Bathroom floor repair/tile replacement approx 145 soft), replaced my back deck boards (approx 740 soft), performed ceiling/wall plaster repairs, and repaired/reset 4 sections of 8 foot fencing. Each and everyone of his crews were professional at all times and cleaned up thoroughly each day leaving the work sites clean prior to calling it a day. Workmanship was excellent. Would recommend Luper Construction to anyone"

"Everything went perfectly. They arrived on time. Took down blinds and draperies, laid down tarps, moved furniture and bookcases, spackled, puttied, sanded, painted, and put everything back in place before they left each evening for 3 days. They did such a good job, I got them to paint and repair the front porch before they left."

"Paul did a wonderful job. He was very thorough and the house looks better than it ever has after being cleaned. My house is a two story with a full wrap porch with railings and a shed. The last cleaning damaged some of my plants. This time my plants are fine. His prices are so reasonable, So glad I found him."

"This is the third time we have used John and his son because we think they are fantastic!!  They are punctual, friendly, thorough, reasonably priced, and most importantly, they take years off of the appearance of our home.  The white guttering is sparkling white again, the windows (and window troughs) are squeaky clean, and our porches and driveway are spotless.  Even the white caulking around our garage doors (on our 15-yr-old home) is spotless--and I can't come close to that with detergent, brush, and elbow grease. We have already arranged to have him come back next year.  We are convinced that John will actually extend the life of our home's exterior finishes over time--and for that, this service is worth every dime. <br />"

"Excellent on all counts! I had my house cleaned years ago, but after No More Dirty Roofs cleaned my home it looked like I just had it painted. They even got the ugly stains off of the gutters, cleaned the front porch, back deck and all the windows are clean. I had black mold on my roof that had begun to grow moss. They scrubbed the roof clean! The trim on my home is cream color and I was speechless when I came home from work and saw it looking like new. The sidewalk was so thick in black mold and mildew stains I was ready to tear it up and install a new walk, but after they cleaned and pressure washed the sidewalk it was almost like new. Excellent service and professionalism with an easy way to pay over the phone. Excellent all the way through!!"

"John replaced several plank boards that had warped with age.  He also repaired parts of the hand railing that hand warped.  He thoroughly pressured washed deck and applied high quality stain.  He showed up exactly when he said he would and finished up on schedule.  When he was finished the deck looked brand new!!  Overall, very impressive work and exceptionally reasonable rates.  I would not hesitate to recommend his services to others."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Norfolk, VA

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
