There wasn't any guessing, he used the proper standards for estimating my heating and cooling needs. I really felt like Rich was knowledgeable and careful to listen to my needs. Kyle, the Service Manager, evaluated my house from the plumbing side and thoroughly explained my options for a new water heater and some safety minded upgrades to the gas lines. He was also very pleasant and eager to answer my questions.

They scheduled a date to get the water heater, furnace, and air conditioner replaced in the same day so that I did not have to take additional time off of work. On installation day, they were prompt and very careful to keep my house clean during the installation. Jared was the professional who installed the furnace and oversaw the whole operation that day. Jeremy installed the water heater and did a very clean and thorough job, and Seth installed the air conditioner and did a good deal of the work with the new required vents that a high efficiency furnace required as compared to my older, inefficient one. Seth went out of his way to help repair the broken track on the doors to my mechanical room at the end of the day and was professional and a hard worker.

I can't really say enough kind things about Jared and his high level of professionalism. He always stopped what he was doing to answer any questions that I had about the installation. When he discovered that the furnace had been damaged prior to arriving at my house, he quickly and seamlessly found me a new one within a remarkably short time period. The entire team worked around this delay so that everything went as close to the original schedule as possible. Jared even tracked down additional furnace filters for me at my request and had them to me at the end of the day.

The team stayed as long as needed to make sure that the job was completed in one day. Jared walked me through all of the features and necessary information on my water heater, furnace, and air conditioner. He explained the fairly complicated thermostat in a way that was easy to understand and programmed it so that I would get reminders about changing the furnace filter in the most efficient (and cost effective for me) manner. I mentioned that I might want to have the flue pipe that vents the hot water heater replaced as the home inspection conducted months earlier had identified some corrosion issues. Seth went back into the attic and took pictures of the corrosion so that it could be documented for the future repair.

The next week, I scheduled the replacement of the flue pipe and was pleased to find that Jared would be replacing it since he was already familiar with my system. As before, I was extremely happy with his level of professionalism and pleasantness. He took care when replacing the flue pipe and cap, knowing that I was anxious about any water leaking in. He answered additional questions about the air conditioner that I had and completed the work very competently.

Overall, I am highly satisfied wit the work completed by Mattex. I still cannot believe how nice my equipment looks because they didn't cut any corners and did the work professionally. I am confident that I will be working with Mattex again in the future for the maintenance of my equipment and for other heating/cooling and plumbing needs. I am sure that I will be asking for Rich personally if I need any other estimates and I guarantee that I will be asking that Jared do my future heating/cooling/plumbing work. They are just that good.

"Lanz was the highest of 4 quotes from local plumbers when I was looking to have multiple plumbing jobs completed, including the purchase and installation of a new water heater. I went with Lanz on the water heater only because they were quick to respond and were able to install it 2 days after my request. The Lanz rep, Ken, was very professional. On installation day, he had a younger guy helping him who seemed to struggle quite a bit and scratched up some furniture while bringing the new water heater in. He also left a large pipe in the yard that I had to dispose of. I chose to go with the least expensive water heater and still paid $1439.21 with Lanz. Others were significantly lower in price, but definitely not as quick to respond or schedule."

"I feel bad because this was one of the best companies that I have ever dealt with. I think we had 3 different crews and they were all great. Here's my problem and it wouldn't cause me to not recommend them or use them again myself. From the time I signed the contract to the time the work was scheduled the salesman that I worked with either left or was terminated. When the crew got here they didn't seem to know what to do and asked me if I had planned to provide my own sump pump. One of them also told me that if I would just open the vents in my crawlspace it would dry out on it's own. This is against everything they recommend as I was sold on sealing the crawlspace and I'm glad I did. They have a system called and quot;Ice Guerdand quot; where they bury the discharge line from the pump and have a mechanism to keep it from freezing in the winter. The salesman showed me this and I was lead to believe I was getting it. The crew that came told me they would need another 350.00 to do that so instead I have a 12 foot pipe sticking out into my backyard. I expressed my disappointment on the exit survey and received a nice call from Bix telling me they would be back to install it no charge. Of course I was thrilled thinking this was above and beyond what most contractors would do. I was scheduled twice but had to be cancelled because of rain. I sent an e-mail a couple of months ago asking about it but did not receive a reply and I called a month ago and talked to a real nice lady who said someone would call to re-schedule. So far nothing. I'm a bit worried that If I have a warranty problem I'm going to get the same treatment. I even expressed interest in signing a service contract to have a yearly inspection but also did not receive a reply. Again, a good company that did a great job at a reasonable price. I just think maybe they have too much business to keep up with.
