"We had a hard time trying to find anyone who was interested in doing such a small repair.  John showed up when he said he would be there and did the work in the time frame he had stated.   We also were going to have him fix a hole that was cut into the carpet but he suggested we leave it as the repair with the patch material we had would make it look more obvious than just leaving it. <br />"

"Ernie's did a great job--the carpets looked amazing after they were done. As the carpets hadn't been cleaned in a LONG time Ernie worked on them ALL day to get many of the stains out and get them fully clean. They also did a good job at stretching so all of the carpet was flat when they were done. Ernie's was very flexible with their scheduling and there was no mess left behind at all. Very happy with the results!"

"Carpet To Go handled our carpet selection and installation, through the Costco program. We were extremely pleased with the entire process, from selecting the carpet, to the fast scheduling, and excellent installation which was completed in less than 2 days. The price was very competitive, and the installers were professional, clean and courteous. We would not hesitate to recommend Carpet To Go."

"Mike Stinson was very professional and friendly. He went above and beyond to get the entire house carpet looking like new. Chose the platinum package since it offered a few extra options we desired. It also came with a guarantee for a free cleaning within 6 months if any stain could not come up with the free stain remover they provided."

"Alex quickly and thoroughly took care of several carpet problems - a major pet accident, some fraying seams, and general looseness in the carpet - in a single visit. The carpet looked perfect afterwards, definitely better than expected. Would gladly hire again."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Arlington, WA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
