A couple small issues: communication was challenging at times because it was hard to know when the crew was going to actually arrive at our house to work, and they mistakenly dug up the wrong part of our lawn due to a miscommunication; quality-wise, a thin crack appeared on part of the concrete patio after a few months. They are friendly and competitively priced."

"As a single mom, I was a bit nervous about hiring contractors, but Dillon (owner) was professional, thorough, and very respectful to me and my budget. I would strongly recommend him! My goal for one area was to create a low maintenance yard that would also look nice. He definitely exceeded my goals by creating a tranquil oasis that requires absolutely no upkeep. Before he started it was an embarrassing, overgrown, littered, unusable disaster. Now it is a beautiful area to enjoy with family and friends. He hauled away all the junk, trees, and weeds. I was amazed at how quickly and smoothly he transformed the space. He pulled out a tree with his excavator (?) and maneuvered it through a few tight areas like it was a baguette. My kids really enjoyed watching (he was very careful to make sure they were in a safe place for the show). The other area was a dirt and grass area that I used for parking. It was always muddy. Dillon smoothed it out, and put in a gravel driveway. He even took care of overhanging branches, and some wiring I didn't know was there. "Great experiences each time I've used this company. It's really, really hard to get good people to do quality work in Seattle, and Steve Bodine is one of those people. He employs great workers, treats them well and holds on to them for years. He personally is a genuinely decent and nice guy as well. He has years and years of experience and I would trust him with all my drainage needs (that's saying something in Seattle). Bodine also did a fantastic job with my concrete driveway and walkways. I first hired Bodine almost 3 years ago to redirect my downspouts to a new drain field in my back yard. His crew did an amazing job. I was so pleased, I hired them to do some concrete work in my basement. Again, excellent work. Based on that, I then hired them to pour a new concrete driveway and walkway. Again, an incredible job. They really care about getting it right. Bodine does virtually all of their work based on referrals... and they are busy. But if you have a problem, they will take care of it immediately and other times, you just have to be a little patient knowing they're busy taking care of someone else's problems. It works both ways. They were very patient with me when I had to change dates to have my driveway poured due to other work going on at my house. I also want to mention Jim Cuba and Manny, who worked on my most recent project and were terrific."

"Scott provided a good quote that described the work to be done with accurate pricing. This included: demo of the existing structure, disposal of the old decking and footings, installation of new footings, framing, Azek decking with a picture-frame border, and aluminum picket railing. During demolition of the decking, Scott discovered some dry-rot on the siding (where the previous deck hadn't had **any** flashing installed). He was able to add the demo and replacement of that siding with new pre-primed siding (we opted to paint it ourselves) as a separate quote at a per-hour amount with an estimate for hours and materials. The final product is excellent and my family is loving being out on our deck and enjoying our backyard! The only issues we ran into were in regard to communication and scheduling. Scott did a good job of communicating the plan when he was on-site or had finished up a stage in the project, but he did not do a good job of keeping us in the loop when schedules changed or there were delays. We also were the ones that needed to initiate contact after the schedule had gone off-track and find out when the next stage was going to begin. I would've appreciated (and would ask for) a more concrete schedule for the project laid out at the beginning and updates over time if that schedule needed to adjust. (Note: The railing was a known time-delay in the process and Scott did a good job communicating that it would be 3-4 weeks after construction of the deck was complete before the railing was finished being fabricated and installed.) Generally he was responsive on the first text/email, but the follow-through to finish the conversation and answer all questions wasn't always there. All said, Scott did a great job with the work we hired him to do and the deck is fabulous. It might've taken longer than originally hoped and with a few more bumps in the road, but as I said above, we're very happy with the end result."
