"We have a 45+ year old house, with 3" pipes and T connectors, so the line has clogged repeatedly over the years. This time was particularly difficult, but Joe worked through the issues, including some surprises (old clean out hidden in ventilation) and consulted with me on options. I was completely satisfied with the end result, and his solution should make future clogging issues easier to resolve. Will definitely use A1 Superior plumbing again."

"Being a woman homeowner is hard. I usually have to steel myself for any home repairs I hire someone for as it usually involves a man talking down to me or assuming I’m not the decision maker. Nathan was kind, respectful, and communicative. He answered my questions as I had them, and spoke to me ad a collaborator. You would do well to hire Triangle Plumbing."

"Charlie’s was great when I got him. But since I called him and left messages and never received a call back so I don't even know if they're still in business or not. He did a nice job, nice fair price. So I tried to re-contact him when I had plumbing issues and I haven't heard from him not yet. I would use him again if I could catch him. Yeah if he'd answer the phone yeah sure I'd use him again. He was great. Oh I don't remember how long it took, so other than that I don't know how long it took him."

"On time, all Covid requirements met, courteous, professional, clear explanation of any concerns (boiler system is getting on in years so prepare for possible problems or failure). Service techs are always superb. New heating/cooling system installed 3 years ago and crew that did that work was also excellent."

"Power Plumbing was great. I have a very old building and a toilet on 2nd floor that was leaking from gasket. The telephone person was responsive and gave me a call when plumber was to arrive. Tony the plumber arrived on time and was able to immediately diagnose the problem and fix it. He was able to deal with the old existing plumbing, and was very knowledgeable. I was very pleased with the service and having Tony explain what was the issues and potential problems that might need to be addressed in the future (old house/old plumbing) and I was very grateful for his insight and expertise. The price was within standard professional plumbers, and I felt I was treated fairly. I highly recommend Power Plumbers. Special thanks to Tony"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Ashburn-Park, IL

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
