"Since we have had ice dam damage during two major snow storms over the past 10 years, our roof was 16 years old, and are planning to sell our house in 2019, we asked Power to assess the roof condition and give us an estimate for replacement. The salesman did a thorough inspection and pointed out several instances of wear and damage to both the roof and fascia boards. Although he spent much too long going over the Power products and the procedures (till too late at night), we were impressed by Power's multi-faceted approach to preventing ice dams and other water damage. What sold us on doing the roof now, however, before selling the house, was the salesman's assurance that the warranty was backed by a national company and transferable to the new owners. Since we have Gutter Shield gutter guards, he said that we'd need to have those removed by the Gutter Shield installer before the roof was done and then replaced afterwards. He did not tell us (and perhaps did not know), that replacing the fascia required removing the gutters and that they would need to be replaced exactly as before in order for the gutter guards to fit. This turned out to be a major problem. When the pre-install inspection manager came to go over the procedures and schedule the work, he told us that the gutters would have to be removed and there would be an additional charge to reinstall them. Because of the misunderstanding, he waived the re-installation charge---but apparently also did not know about the problem of re-installing the gutter guards onto gutters that were no longer exactly in the same place. Power sends a large crew, so the roofing job is normally completed in one day. We had some rain, so it took two days, which was not a problem and the roofing part of the job seems to have been done quite well. The supervisor of the roofing crew was super helpful and kept us abreast of everything they were doing. The fascia and gutter crew, however, had no obvious supervisor and did not communicate with either us or the roofing supervisor. Moreover, they used our vinyl deck railing to support a ladder (unnecessarily in our view) and damaged the railing, and they remounted the front gutter with too steep an incline (by a factor of two or more). Power sends a quality assurance manager after completion of the job to make sure everything is in order, provide the warranty information and collect the payment. When we read the warranty we discovered that Power's labor warranty is not transferable, contrary to what the salesman had told us. (The GAF shingle warranty is transferable, but that's true with any roofing company.) Since this was the decisive feature that led us to contract with Power, we raised objections. The quality assurance manager called the regional project manager, who prepared an addendum extending the labor warranty to the next owners. He also offered to pay the cost of having the Gutter Shield installer rehang the gutters with a correct incline. The pre-install inspection manager suggested that Mr Clean MagicEraser could be used to polish up the damaged railing (which we have successfully done) . Overall we were pleased with the company's thoroughness, quality of product, and communications. We would rate the work an 'A' except for the untruthful statements of the salesman and the poor communication and sloppiness of the fascia crew. We did not receive other quotes for the work, so we suspect that Power's was on the high side, though not too much out of line compared with what we paid in 2002. If the Power roofing system prevents future ice dams, any extra cost will be well worth it."

There was one day of rain which delayed the start of the project, and they still finished on time. About three months later I had an issue with some loose siding and the gutters not properly catching water. In January, we found out we were expecting twins which was great news. Unfortunately our home has been a renovation project on a house built in 1794 and the only suitable bedroom for a nursery had a 6 inch sag in the middle of the hardwood floor. In turn, all furniture tilted inwards, hardly ideal for swaddled babies. In March, we hired another contractor to come and do whatever was necessary to level the floor only to see him go completely dark (10+ calls with no response) on us at the time he was to come perform the work. With less than 2.5 months before the boys were due and not knowing how to fix the floor, we found ourselves in a tough spot. 
We called several contractors referenced highly on Angie's List but only John from JMS responded in a timely way. He listened to our situation, not only taking time to understand what was wrong with the floor but the implications to us if it wasn't fixed. Despite being extremely busy (as many contractors were behind because of the long winter), John cleared his schedule and came by a couple of days later for an evaluation. To ensure that the right solution was devised, he also had his colleague Tom come perform his own analysis at a separate time. A solution was devised which involved jacking and bending a large structural beam incrementally over a few weeks and, once straight, nailing LVL boards to the side to keep the beam straight. From a contractors perspective, I could see this being less than ideal as it required them to make a number of periodic but quick visits to monitor the progress and deal with building inspectors. Despite it being out of the way, they made the trips and gave routine updates all the time giving us honest assessments around the potential results. Ultimately, they completed the project 2 weeks ahead of our due date, under budget and in compliance with our town's building codes. Further, you would never know there was a sag in the floor and our twins sleep very well at night. 
These are truly good quality people in a time when that is very hard to find.

"(1) CP Construction and Carpentry did a fantastic job of leveling my deck for a reasonable price and completed the job in just one day. The deck was sagging from the Ice/snow storm back in 2015 from too much snow sitting on it. I would definitely hire them again."

"Took down a dividing wall that required a new support beam. Initial wall demo and support beam done quickly. Issues started in the basement. Needed new posts in the basement. To do the work Scott had to cut out the concrete floor. Must have done this with a dry saw. Entire basement was covered in concrete dust. No attempt to cover anything was made including washer dryer and all stored items some of which was removed from upstairs to avoid the work in the living room. Pouring the concrete also left very uneven floor around the posts. Will have to be corrected if ever wanting to upgrade basement. Lastly the drywall repairs ceiling and some walls. Scott had to be told that the layers of mud needed to be sanded down to be considered paint ready as per our contract. Most was corrected but many corners and details left in poor condition His contractor for flooring was ok. Took 4 days longer due to double booking. Some wood slats were placed unevenly creating noticeable low and high pieces. Used Scott because he had an opening quickly but it was probably not worth it."
