"After a section of our flashing had broken loose as the result of very high winds, and about half that section ultimately then ending-up actually breaking all of the way off, we reached-out to others whom we know to be highly experienced, reliable, and well-respected professional resources for a recommendation, from which SlopePro Roofing came back immediately, and without hesitation. As this occurred over the weekend, on Sunday… I called and left a message with SlopePro. Very first-thing the following morning, Monday, SlopePro was on my phone in response to my voicemail from late the previous day and, to my relief, was very surprisingly able to schedule Justin to come to our home mid-day of that very same day to evaluate the damage and provide a quote. The next two actions that resulted are very much the driving forces behind our being not only willing, but actually more than happy to take time out of our demanding schedule like this to ensure that SlopePro is recognized here, as follows: #1) After his evaluation of the -whole- of our existing roofing system/environment - - - not just merely the flashing damage for which he had been called out about - - - Justin informed me of a very routine minimum charge which would always apply to any contracted work, regardless of the work to be performed, and further then also informed me as well of several other discrepancies that he had identified, as the result of his very comprehensive inspection. It was - - - in that moment, and continuing on until now - - - when Justin and SlopePro immediately began to win our respect, and our business - - - current and future - - - as he-himself proceeded to the committing of SlopePro’s otherwise *additional* time and resources over those which would have instead been just minimally needed, in order to just simply repair/replace only the flashing (while of course still enforcing the minimum charge) and then moving-on. But… instead now also… of his/their very-own voluntary offering… additionally include the repair of ALL the current discrepancies across our entire roofing system and environment for that same minimum charge. Which - - - as is quite substantially noteworthy and important to acknowledge here - - - included upwards of about 15 to 20 missing asphalt shingle flaps in our instance! And… (yes, there’s more) in light of the timely and pending sale of our home, they took things even further by making accommodation to schedule the work for the very next-day, Tuesday. Things you just don’t see very often, if at-all, any more. #2) Well, #2 is as straightforward and simple as one would hope it to be… Not only did “they” show-up the next day and perform exceptional quality repairs… as it turns out… the roofing professional who showed-up to execute those quality repairs in our instance was non other than Alden Echols himself. President, and one of SlopePro’s 3rd generation family owners! Needless to say, the repairs were all completed to the highest standard, and they were actually even able to so closely match the color of our 16 year old shingles that you genuinely cannot distinguish which are the old original shingles, from the newly-repaired/replacement flaps! TO SUM IT ALL UP: I do recall, from days of old, these seemingly now non-existent concepts of ‘Integrity’, and ‘Going Above-And-Beyond’, which seem to be reserved these days for inclusion in merely folklore… novels… and movies. But after our experience with Alden and Justin and all the SlopePro Roofing team, I’m encouraged to have personal affirmation that these do indeed still exist around us, even today. So a big-fat and very genuine “thanks!”, once again to SlopePro! AND… a resounding “YES”… We would of course, unquestionably recommend SlopePro to everyone with any roofing needs whatsoever. Very Sincerely, Dan and Irene Allred Varina, VA"

Small jobs welcome

"Excellent job installing roofing material from hail storm damage. They left the worksite clean of all old shingles, roofing materials, etc. Their price was more than reasonable and the finish project shows quality workmanship that will last for years."

"Skyfall Exteriors, LLC. defines how Contractors should treat their Customers, and sets a new bar for quality. We recently installed a new roof, and contracted Skyfall to perform a 3rd party roof inspection to ensure we could sign the job completion documents with peace of mind. Troy Billups performed a roof inspection for us this morning. After initially estimating that the work might take 30 minutes, he spent over an hour on the roof to make sure he documented every issue he found. Troy took pictures of all affected areas, and even chalked them up for us. Following his inspection, Troy took the time to walk me through the pictures, explaining exactly what we were looking at. We are expecting a complete report with line by line defects and corresponding images so we can go back to our original contractor for remediation. If all contractors were as honest, and trustworthy as this group, it would make homeownership so much easier. My *only* regret, is that we didn't contact Troy to install this roof in the first place. A+ rating, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Troy or his team to my closest friends and family."

"We bought our house brand new 20 years ago. It reached that point in time when the original roof was starting to wear out. Our neighbor had to have her roof inspected and her contractor expressed to her that our roof had sustained some damage from high winds. We arranged to receive an estimate from HCR. Their rep, Casey Becraft, inspected our roof and noted that light was shining through the eave into the attic. He was able to schedule our replacement before the end of November. This was a relief to us, because we were concerned about the arrival of winter weather. HCR roof replacements are superior to builder grade roof installations. They install leak barriers, aluminum drip edges (that don't rust), ridge ventilation, and cap shingles on the eaves. The 5 tab shingles they install are much better than the originally installed asphalt shingles. They also replace all rubber pipe collars. All materials were loaded onto the roof the day before work started. The whole process took approximately 8 to 9 hours. And they hauled all of the waste materials away afterward. We are very pleased with work and relieved that this issue has been resolved."

FAQs for asphalt shingle roofing installation and replacement projects in Ashland, VA

Roofing professionals can usually install a medium-sized asphalt shingle roof in two to three days. Installation time increases if your roof is particularly steep or difficult to access or has features like chimneys or skylights that roofers must work around.

Three-tab asphalt shingles usually have the lowest upfront cost of any roofing shingle material. They’re sturdy and typically last 15 to 20 years. However, they may have a shorter lifespan in especially hot or cold climates. Talk to a local roofing professional about the best materials for your climate. In some cases, materials with a higher upfront cost may save you more on repairs or replacements in the long run.

Start by multiplying the length by the width of your roof to calculate the square footage. Most shingle replacement costs $4 to $12 per square foot for materials and labor, depending on factors like the material and the slope of your roof. Once you know the size of your roof, you can calculate a rough estimate of total costs or contact a local roofing professional to provide you with a custom quote.

Asphalt shingles are generally considered to be a low-maintenance item. However, cleaning your asphalt roofing can help prolong the lifespan and keep it looking fresh. If you’re comfortable with DIY and have the proper equipment, you may be able to clean your asphalt shingles yourself. However, if you have an especially high or steep roof, it’s usually safer to hire a professional roof cleaner.
