"My need was a bit different - I needed a beautiful piece of wood to mount an artifact on. The wood needed to be dark and interesting, but not too ornate. We communicated through texts and selected a date/time for me to come out to see what he had. I drove to Keith's yard, and he met me there. I love wood and had fun just wandering through all his inventory - from the logs to the final pieces - fascinating. Once he understood what I wanted, we went through his many beautiful pieces. I loved the olive specimens he had, but they didn't fit my needs. We finally decided on a 5-foot piece of Claro Walnut. Keith showed me what it would look like when finished and even cut it to the size I needed, and sawed the rugged edges I wanted (I hate straight 90-degree angles). I now have a sanding/finishing project and can't wait to see the result on my bedroom wall.
