"I would just like to say that I had a wonderful experience working with Everdry. The team leader was very professional and did the work in a timely and efficient manner. Workers were polite and knew their jobs very well. They all worked well together and made the job move smoothly. We have had no water problems since the work was done. One problem with the sump pump and they came out and replaced it for us. So keep on the warranty cost every year. KB of Toledo"

"Kilo Plumbing is a real true professional that service all Ft. Wayne areas, so i highly recommend them. Offered 3 year warranty on labor, battery, & my backup battery-operated sump pump. Plumber Chance is unique because he welcomes & answers all questions you have about the project. I paid $1800 to install sump pump & reassemble pipes for better water flow, not for code compliance that I thought that he said would cost $3k or $4,000 that seems too much based on my research & other pluming co. He had to come back days later to fix a leaky pipe he worked on. So far, sump pump & pipe are in good condition. "

"We needed our outside sump pump pipe repaired/replaced Nick Ginther was great. He told me news I didn't really want to hear - but he was honest and laid out the pros and cons. He willingly looked at alternatives to solve my problem before making his final recommendation. He is a relationship kind of guy, and I felt I could trust him -- both are very important to me. He replaced all the exit piping and laid new 4" SDR 35 drain pipe out to the pop-up drain out back. He arranged all the utility markings. They hand dug the trench from the house to the far corner of our back yard and then laid all the piping. Seven hours of non-stop work to complete the project -- very hard workers!! He followed up the next day to make sure everything was working well. Highly professional and classy. We are very impressed with Nick's work, and we highly recommend him. "

At PG Plumbing we have a simple yet powerful reason for starting our plumbing company: to bring a breath of fresh air to the plumbing industry in Fort Wayne and Allen County.\n\nWith the rise of large corporate plumbing conglomerates, we noticed the disappearance of the small, locally-owned plumbing businesses that once thrived in our community. This inspired us to step in and make a difference.\n\nOur mission is clear: we are here to provide our customers with cost-effective, personal experiences rather than prioritizing profit margins. We understand the frustration that often comes with plumbing issues, and our goal is to alleviate that stress with a service you can trust.\n\nWe invite you to choose PG Plumbing a local, employee-owned, reliable, and trustworthy team, for all your plumbing needs. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we are committed to providing you with the best service possible. Thank you for considering us as your plumbing partner in Fort Wayne.

" We had a challenging project with water removal and structural support issues. Our crew of Tim (Foreman), Marq, Jayshawn, and Devon worked diligently to install a new drainage system and support beam for the house, spending late nights to get the job done. Thanks to (Manager) Cornell for his assistance on this complex project. Matt E "

"Chance was great. He installed our 3-stage water filtration system (US Water sediment, carbon, and Pulsar UV) with an existing softener, a new water heater, and fixed two shower leaks (one drain, one valve). In all of these, he efficiently evaluated each system and made the necessary updates. This was working with a plumbing system originally installed in the 1980s. Fair pricing, and very professional. We highly recommend him."

"Brian was able to install a 4 piece appliance package at the last minute! French door fridge with ice/water dispenser/maker, over the range microwave, stove and dishwasher. He also removed the old dishwasher and hauled it away. I wish he could have advised on the clearance of the microwave above the cooktop as it is very low/close to the cook top surface."

"Tom stuck with the job, and didn't leave or hurry the job so it was a complete clean out of sewer line. The roots were clogging the sewer to the point I don't know how any water went through it."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Auburn, IN

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
