"It turned out okay. I wouldn't rate them as great. They did the job but I probably wouldn't recommend them. They came out and gave a lower estimate but I didn't know they were going to use the old brick. The chimney and the bricks were starting to chip. The only thing they replaced was the bricks that were chipped. Another company told me that had a higher estimate, they'll come in and give you a lower estimate but they'll use your same old brick which is what they did. They did replace maybe 8 or 10 bricks out of the whole chimney. When they showed up with their truck, I thought they had a load of bricks. They charged me $50 or $100 for a cheap cap to put on it. I could probably buy one for $30 at Lowe's or Home Depot myself. I said I don't want that, just turn out my old one. It's too late now, we've already bought it. I said, you can't take it back to the store? No. It serves a purpose a guess, but I wouldn't know."

"The contractor arrived when he said he would.  The work was done in a very professional manner.  The care taken to blend the new mortar in color and texture so it does not stand out from the old is amazing.  The chimney now looks like it must have looked when it was first built in 1940.  They cleaned up the worksite very well.  I would recommend Nader Masonry of St. Charles, Michigan without hesitation."

"Everyone was very professional and pleasant to work with. Greg, the salesperson checked on the job during installation and then came back after completion and went up on the roof to check the job. The installation crew were great guys and kept me updated each day on the progress and what they had done and what they still needed to do. They cleaned up after themselves each day and never left a mess. The whole job took 4 days."

"These folks did a fantastic job for us. Our existing gutters were installed on our 1850 house about 35 years ago, when we didn't know any better, and the job was done poorly: among other things, the flow was poorly directed and the gutters were installed over fascia that should have been replaced first.  Livingston didn't simply improve the design, and replace gutters and downspouts where needed.  They also replaced several runs of fascia and some adjoining soffit areas that had rotted.  They also found a section of a beam running along our front porch that had apparently rotted several decades ago before we installed a new roof, and they jacked up the porch roof and replaced the bad section of the beam.  To sum up, they exceeded our highest expectations.  They didn't just replace the gutters, but actually improved the integrity of our house.  The owner and his staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and hard-working.  Our sincere thanks to them! <br />"

"Tim came out and gave me a prompt estimate in August. Said he was very busy and could not squeeze me in until end of September. Waiting was okay with me - the repair was not urgent. He texted me the day before he came with two other workers. They removed the old blocks and replaced with new. Also put a new cap on the porch. They were finished the same day. Tim came back the next day to remove the forms for the cap. Looks great. I'mm have him come back in the spring and replace the steps. and a couple foundation windows."

"One screw type pier installed. 2 workers hand dug hole below bottom of foundation. Cleaned out under foundation for platform. Although foundation was deeper than I thought, the hole was done much better and quicker than I envisioned. Pier was screwed at bottom of hole with a hydraulic motor. Once limit on hydraulic pressure was reached, the pier was cut at proper level, platform installed, and cracked section of foundation was raised with a hydraulic jack. Crack in stonework closed up nicely without going too far and creating additional cracks. Workers had 5 and 15 years experience doing this work. Very professional and did a very nice job every step of the way. Note that I (homeowner) chose to move and reinstall landscaping stones and gutter drain. Also, tuckpointing/repairing the cracks was not included in the quote. I plan to do that myself at a later date."

"I hired Elysium based on online reviews for wallpaper removal in kitchen, foyer, stairwells and bathroom. I was quoted it would be 3 day project and price was good. A subcontractor was sent out, not Elysium painting. Well as far as wallpaper removal, they did not remove the glue but instead did a lot of sanding and plaster to cover the glue . The kitchen turned out nice and you could tell they took their time. As for the rest of the job, they hurried on the last day and painted over a lot of the glue, did not sand all the plaster down and only did 1 coat of paint without primer. It looked horrible. I called the subcontractor who was very apologetic and long story short he came out and fixed it. Elysium called and apologized as well. It ended up looking better but not as nice as I thought it would . While I was thankful they came and fixed it, overall I just wasn't too thrilled with the whole experience. There was not a lot of communication, always late, cancellations,dirty drop cloths, didn't do a great job sealing off my house to prevent sanding dust from getting everywhere, my whole house smelled like cigarettes as they took a break very often, different people everyday,overcharged me for paint but I just let that go because I was over it all . Very nice people but I would have taken my time to read reviews next time. After they got into the job they realized my walls were in pretty bad shape but I would have rather they stop and renegotiate with me to get the job done in a nice professional way and not try to make up labor costs on the paint."

"Without question, I would recommend The Chimney Doctor, Midland, MI. Bob Sciba (owner) was quick to respond to my email (within 24 hours) and scheduled a follow-up. Andrew and Bracken came out to do the jobs, and I couldn't be more pleased. Upon review of the detailed inspection, they discovered the chimney cap was rusted, and in need of replacement. They took pictures and showed me the rust and holes that developed over the 15 years we've had the home. Andrew and Bracken couldn't do the chimney cap job on the initial day and scheduled to return the following Saturday to replace the chimney cap. During the replacement process, Andrew discovered a plate or cover that was cheap in quality. He could have used it, but he thought it was too flimsy, and not a quality piece. They went above and beyond service and drove back to their shop in Midland (I live in Saginaw) to get a replacement part that would meet their standard of quality. They could have used the old plate and finish the job a lot earlier...it was Saturday after all....but they didn't. Both Andrew and Bracken did what was in the best interest of the customer....they did what was right. That's integrity, my friends. Andrew and Bracken arrived at 9 am, and the completed the job around 12:30. The price was more than fair....no additional fee for having to return to Midland for the plate.
