"The vendor recommending replacing cap and sealing the brick. They performed the work with little or no impact on the leak. When I called back, the repeated the sealing. Again, little or no effect. The third time they recommended I call a "water leak specialist". I hired the vendor to stop the leak. They did not stop the leak, but were happy to charge for the work they did."

"HORRIBLE COMPANY, horrible experience! Stay away from this company! Please read my story below to understand the level of service you should expect from Chimcare. You do not want to be stuck in my position. After paying our downpayment for repairs on our chimney (replacing an old chimney cap, chimney saver, and crown coat), Chimcare was prompt to take half of the final charge for the service. They told us they would schedule our service within 7 days. THEY NEVER SCHEDULED OUR SERVICE! We tried calling the company to get the service scheduled -- more than 10 times. The calls always went to voicemail. NO ONE PICKED UP! Two weeks later, we received an email out of the blue that a technician was on their way to complete the service. Of course we were not home. The above isn't even the worst part. The technician showed up without the chimney cap for replacement, so we told he he should probably get that part before repairing the chimney. He came back a week later to service the chimney and after I came out I pointed out that he didn't replace the rusted chimney cap plate. He tried to convince me that the rusted chimney cap plate was fine. I insisted he do the job right. He then confessed that the part he had was the wrong size and that he needed to order a new one. After all this, he came back again, but he brought what looked like a bent piece of sheet metal as the chimney cap replacement. Chimcare customer service agreed that this looked "disgusting". We finally had chimcare out for the FOURTH time to get this thing right. And the chimney cap they ended up installing wasn't even the right size in the end (see pic). And after all this, we still can't get in touch with their billing department because they invoiced us for the incorrect amount. AND, after emailing them to correct the amount with no response, they CHARGED OUR CREDIT CARD WITHOUT SIGNED CONSENT. Do yourself a favor, avoid this company. Unless of course you'd like my experience or other 1 star reviews here."

"It went great! Ted and Lee came when it was pouring and put a tarp around my 40+ year old chimney. Ted ordered a new cap. When the cap arrived and the weather co-operated (10 days), the crew came and pressured washed the chimney's exterior, cut out and grouted new mortar into the joints, installed new counter flashing and installed a stainless steel full cover chimney cap. That needed to be done in two installments for the interior of the chimney needed more drying time...another 4 days. No problem, for there was no more leaking!! Was a pleasure to deal with Ted and company. They were pleasant, courteous, helpful, and informative. Will be out again when the rain stops and it warms up to apply a water repellent . Thank you Ted, Lee and crew."

"Too bad they only offer 5 stars-I would've rated them 10! We had a fireplace service out a couple of weeks back. The tech opened up the fireplace, banged around, and determined that we needed $2550.00 worth of work done on the unit. Jonathan was my second opinion for the job. He opened it up, looked around, and determined that it simply needed a good cleaning and some adjusting. He cleaned the unit and the exhaust, worked on it for roughly an hour, and had it working like new, for less than half the price the other company quoted us. On top of all this, Jonathan explained to us exactly how the unit worked so we would have a better understanding of the lighting process. Now a bit about Jonathan. This man is bright (extremely), honest (my instinct tells me as much), and has a frankness in his demeanor that is fresh and welcome in these times where everyone seems to be on the grift. THANK YOU JONATHAN!!!!! This was an excellent experience!"

"Replacement of chimney went very well and I am very pleased with the look. Previous chimney was leaking through mortar cracks and was faced with basalt rock. It would have been very expensive to tear down and replace and Chris suggested several brick colors, dropped them over for us to consider, and drew some pictures of replacement chimney to match mid century house and neighborhood. He also reused old cap material on new chimney and was able to use material to repair rear brick chimney cap."
