"I had a great experience with Chad coming out to fix our plumbing issue. He was on-time and very friendly. I could tell he had a lot of experience and I appreciated all the plumbing tips he gave me. Just great service and I had no complaints."

"Don was great and was very reasonably priced. I told him what some of the big name plumbing companies quoted me and he literally laughed out loud. Being a single female I feel like most contractors will charge outrageous amounts because they think I will pay whatever. Don is not like this he is an honest and trust worthy man. When I ever need any plumbing jobs in the future he will be the first guy I call."

"The 15 year old water heater started leaking from the bottom. I got Ken Neyer's contact because another plumber couldn't come for a few days. Everyone I dealt with from the company was pleasant and professional. I received a quote over the phone based on the type of water heater I was replacing and scheduled for the following day. Ross arrived and got to work immediately. He was joined by Chris not long after that. They worked quickly and wrapped it up in a little over two hours. The work area was left clean (or at least as clean as it was before). The amount charged was exactly what they had quoted me."

"I had a bit of an emergency since my 75-gallon water heater died unexpectedly. Jeff and Craig from Hellkamp Plumbing were a pleasure to work with. Jeff consulted with me over the phone to determine an appropriate replacement. We both agreed on installing a new tankless water heater. <br /> Scheduling was easy, and Hellkamp went out of their way to perform an and quot;emergencyand quot; replacement. Once on-site, they worked with me to ensure that the new intake was placed in an inconspicuous place outside. I appreciate that since it was near the front of the house. <br /> I highly recommend Hellkamp Plumbing. <br />"

"We had a plumbing emergency as installation crew for new refrigerator couldn’t get ice maker water line shut off or knew where to shut off main water line. I immediately called my go to plumbing company only to find out it would be 5 days before they could help even though they claimed to have 24 hour emergency service on Angie’s List. I noticed this company on Angie’s List also said 24 hour emergency service so I was pleasantly surprised to have a plumber answer the phone who verbally helped us immediately and agreed to come over when he got off the phone. He was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. He got the valve working again for the ice maker water line and returned the next day to replace faulty expansion tank. He is a seasoned professional who knows his stuff. He prioritizes emergencies which was a blessing to our family. You will be confident in his work!"

"Tischbein used a video scope to check all drains. This included the drains for the downspouts, external floor drain and also checked the weeping tile at the base of the foundation. They were quite thorough, took time to explain their findings and identified potential solution to the backyard water problem. We are very pleased with their service, attention to detail and willingness to answer all of our questions. We would recommend the company."

"Cody finished my basement bathroom and did a fantastic job. This was a pretty challenging job given those wonderful surprises involving basement plumbing. Cody ran the water lines, installed the toilet, tub, fan, sink, shower door, electric...and then finished the drywall and laid the floor. He even fixed some of my framing gaffs and gave me pointers on how to frame the remainder of the basement. He also came well within his quote and was pleasant to work with. I highly recommend Cody!"

"I have a plumber that I use, that I really like. It's just a little small, independent company. It's really small. Rapid response. Very professional. They don't charge you a lot."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Aurora, IN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
