"Jorge did a great job tackling my carpet installation project. He was very prompt to get back to me up front, provided a reasonable estimate for the job, and then showed up on time! His work was very well done and the finished product was perfect. I'd hire him again without hesitation."

"Sam Snow and his crew did an excellent job all around with our floors. We had our house completely gutted and remodeled and needed new flooring throughout the house. We chose cork floors for the about 80% of our house, and chose carpet for the basement. <br /> The installers were on time, precise and neat with their work, and provided outstanding service all around. They were polite and really seemed to enjoy their work, which showed in the final product. The after-service was also outstanding. We noticed that some of the cork floor was slipping and notified them of the problem. They responded promptly, and immediately came out to fix the problem - absolutely no hassles. <br /> Overall, working with EcoFloors was one of the most pleasant experiences of our major house renovation. We would recommend these guys in a heartbeat. <br /> <br />"

"I was very pleased.  After measuring my carpet their estimate went up.  I was about to cancel and they spoke right up and said they would honor their over the phone quote.  They got a couple of spots out that other companies couldn't. <br /> Very pleased!!! <br />"

"We had hardwood installed in the entire house. The existing carpet and flooring had to be removed and new flooring installed. The folks at Treadline were fabulous through out the entire process. Kelly worked with us to understand the different flooring options and suggested samples to take home. She allowed us the time needed to make a decision since this was a big job. Once we made our choice, the process moved smoothly. The demo and install crews were friendly, professional and efficient. They worked with us to be as least disruptive as possible and were upfront with how much time each step might take. We are so happy with the results! High quality floors and installation at a reasonable price."

"I cannot say enough good things about Macadam. They worked with us to put vinyl plank down over some deteriorating slate tile in one room and replace the carpet throughout our townhome (lots of stairs). Rick was fantastic working with me upfront to choose the best products within my budget. Then the install teams were just amazing. My husband and I were initially planning to install the vinyl ourselves, but I am SO GLAD we had them do it instead. What would probably have taken us multiple weekends, buying new tools, etc., took these guys a total of 4 hours. The cost was super affordable and included moving all the heavy furniture in and out of the room. The result is fantastic. I love it so much. Easy to clean, much more comfortable than tile to walk on, and lots of compliments! Where they went above and beyond was during the carpet install. Our home had severe water intrusion issues a few years back, which we thought had a previous contractor had fully repaired. When the carpet install team ripped up the carpet, they found multiple places with black mold or dry rot. The install team stopped what they were doing, had my husband and I take a look, and provided exceptional support talking through the options of what to do. We ended up having them stop the install and having our previous contractor come out and fix the areas. As soon as the water intrusion contractor completed the repair, the team at Macadam went out of their way to get a team back in to do the carpet install asap. I couldn’t believe how communicative, professional, and kind both install teams were throughout the process. Thank you, Macadam Flooring. We love our new floors!"

"We had not heard of this company before, but driving by the building one day stopped in and was helped by David. He showed us what they had in their warehouse and sent us home with samples. He then came at our request and measured and provided a quote. We decided we wanted a different style and David ordered samples for us that were sent to the house. We selected and purchased the carpet, and it arrived in their warehouse that same week. We scheduled the install, and on the agreed day the installers arrived promptly and completed the rooms that we had moved furniture from. The following day, the returned and completed the remaining rooms. They were very professional, courteous, and helpful. The carpet and pad were installed properly and look fantastic. It is very rare that you bring someone in to do work on the house, they deliver everything that was promised, and you are completely satisfied, but my experience with JK Carpets is one of those times. Excellent work, and the price was very good. We did get other quotes on the exact same carpet, and David's was the best. Highly recommended, and we are working with them on another flooring job. <br />"

"We've used them before for carpet and upholstery cleaning so when our 5 sets of 20 year old drapes needed cleaning (for the first time!), we called them. They came on time and gave a quote. We had a 35% discount coupon so we went ahead and had them take the drapes down and take them to their plant for cleaning. They returned the drapes and hung them for us on time, as well. They look very good and they hang straight, as expected. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Aurora, OR

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
