"I contacted this company to fix a sprinkler coverage issue in my yard. They sent a guy out that ran the system and noted all of the areas and provided me an estimate ($1100.00). Thought it was expensive but agreed to the service/maintenance plan just wanting to save my yard. The technician came out and REMOVED a couple of sprinkler heads and moved one (thinking less heads more water) and declared success. In a few days the heat showed (dying/dead) grass areas not getting water. Called the company and they sent same technician out and he adjusted spray saying give it a couple weeks to recover. Two weeks later the grass was indeed DEAD. Called them back out and they said they did what was quoted. Called the owner and complained he responded with "Thank you for the email. If you would allow us, I would like to make this right for you. I would also like to point out a couple things: 1. According to my 30 years experience AND the manufacturer, the rotors have a very even watering pattern from head to end of throw. Now, with that, we do turn down the "fan out" screw just until it touches the water. Maybe Carlton did not do that - I don't know. 2. We are setting ALL of our clients timers (as are other companies) to water for 45 minutes to an hour for rotor zones. If you are on a community timer, you might want to check with them for that. 30 minutes is not going to be enough time for a rotor zone this time of year during this drought. With that said, if you will give us the opportunity to make this right, I would like to send my lead technician, Alex, to look at this for you. If you look at my reviews, we are an honest company. But that does not mean that one of our technicians had a bad day or made a poor decision. We are not perfect. But we do honor our warranty and we don't want anyone to feel ripped off. Let me know if we can come out one more time. If not, I understand your position. Regards, Adam Giordano To The Drop Irrigation, LLC 863-332-4800" Well the lead technician came out and this was the result "I spoke with Alex this morning and here is what we came up with. First, your community is NOT putting enough water down for rotors zones. If you Google "how long to run irrigation in the Tampa area" you'll see that "Pop-up sprinkler heads (sprays) should run about 30 - 40 minutes. Rotating sprinklers should run for about an hour to an hour and a half. I suggest starting at 20 minutes for sprays and 40 minutes for rotors and going up from there. Rotors need a lot more time to cover their areas properly, so running all zones for the same amount of time does not make sense. Also, the timing is set to water from 8PM to 11PM. That is a bad time to water a landscape. Ideally, you want to water early AM (cycle to end by 7:00 AM). But you never want to water between 9:00PM and 3:00AM. The water sits for too long and could cause mold - the water could also runoff if here is a slope as the grass does not drink in as much during those hours. You'll see a world of difference with just these minor changes. So, much of the issue you are having is the schedule of the watering. I know you are unhappy with the spend and still having issues. But what Carlton did was necessary and the areas he worked in are working better and have an even watering pattern. There are 4 K-Rain rotors that are seemingly not getting water between the head and the end of the throw. I suggest changing them to our Toro T5 rotors. Please note that the Toro T5 rotor has an even watering pattern from head to end of throw. Since we did not have this on the original estimate, there would be a charge for this. The heads currently in place look fine - but apparently have bad nozzles. Cost to replace 4 rotors is $59 each. I could work with that price for you as a thank you for having Alex out to look at the issue yesterday." (OBTW these rotors cost $19.00 each.) I finally ended up sending "Adam, It is obvious that you are not getting my point. Your company was asked to come and give me a quote for providing 100% coverage of my yard. You sent out your technician that supposedly completed the assessment. I was presented with the quote which I accepted and the work was completed. I did not question the quote because I had already told the tech that I wanted 100% coverage and you are supposed to be the experts. Now the yard is in worse condition then when you started and you want to blame anything except the inept assessment that was conducted after running all of the sprinklers to ensure 100% coverage. You either have an incompetent or untrained technician doing the quote. I do not want any of your people on my property again. This is the worse service I have experienced in many years and I plan to talk about it with everyone I know to warn them of your scheme." WARNING WARNING CAUTION ADVISORY..... Poor company to have any dealings with. You expect so called experts that are called to fix an issue to have the competence to identify and actually fix the issues."
