I found Jason at Reigle Contracting and I am glad I did. We had our decks, windows/doors, and siding replaced on our cottage in Kitty Hawk. They were amazing to work with and were top notch. The decks are very sturdy and built with safety and style in mind. The windows/doors turned out better than we thought they would. The siding is beautiful. Along the way, Jason would let me know what issues he had and would call me to make sure I was informed of what he found and offered the proper way to fix it. We found we had a roof leak in several places and he took care of this for us. This outside of the original scope of work. He really does take care of his customers. The before and after photos are amazing! It looks like a totally different cottage! I wish he could come do some work on our home in Virginia! We love it and would definitely use and recommend Reigle Contracting again."

"Just had the complete outside of house painted. Major project. Tony Etheridge of Etheridge Pro Coat (252-394-5845) did the work. He was responsive, professional, thorough and a real pleasure to work with. His guys did a super job and he checked on them frequently and pointed out any needed fixes. Totally impressed with Tony. One of the best, if not the best, contractors I've dealt with. I got four estimates and his price matched one and was much less than the other two. I would use him again in a heartbeat!!!"

"Our is 2.5 storey and steep roof. Owner visited and without getting on roof told me that you need to replace 2 flashings. The house is 9 years old and according to him ( I am not sure) it is better to replace flashing after 10-12 years any way. I think flashing should have same about 30 years life of roof. However, I accepted the recommendation as cost was $150. Also, I don't think they inspected or did anything on other side of the roof. He sent Brian in the following week to carry out work. Brian is really hardworking honest guy. He spent about 4 hours on roof to replace flashing and nail down singhles on one side of roof. I was not happy since they didn't even look at other side of roof. Since my $200 +79 was worth their effort of 4 hours I am OK with the service provided. However, I felt that they are giving this deal to generate more business. and chnging of flushing was not necessary. Anyway I was happy with Brian and hence I am giving A other wise I would have given B."

"I was quite pleased with the outcome.  The job did not start or end on schedule as the spring storms pushed other jobs out, however Mike did send one of his crew down to get started at the end of the original start week and he managed the weather effectively. We agreed at the outset that the drop dead date for completion was mid-May and that time frame was met.  He wasn't the cheapest and that isn't my main criteria for selecting a partner.
The quality of the job was very good upon completion but the real test will be 6 months to a year from now.  I believe Mike will stand behind any issues that surface as he was very proactive throughout the process.  He was very helpful in pointing out areas needing attention in another job which was being conducted and offering assistance when possible. 
With work interrupted several times by prolonged periods of rain, they made sure that the equipment was stowed or immobilized each day so that I did have an eye sore to stare at until they returned.  Communication was good throughout the process via text so I knew when the wind was going to lay down enough for them to get up on the ladders.
More importantly, Mike was positive in his approach and attitude, it was a pleasure to deal with him.  At the end of the day, the variability of the work by any of the companies would likely have been pretty close, but I enjoyed working with Mike, he made me laugh, helped me consider other options and set my mind at ease that I wouldn't be repeating this exercise in 3 years.  And if I am - then his company will be around and assist in mitigating the problem."

"Mr. Hargrove was very responsive and professional.  We contacted 2 other companies and never really got any response from either of them.  Mr. Hargrove was on time for every meeting or contact, and never failed to return calls promptly.  We agreed to pay half up front, and when we accidentally mis-dated the check, he drove about 45 minutes to meet us halfway to get him a new one, which he then used to buy the materials.  During the second day of work on the roof, rain interrupted progress, and they covered up what was unfinished, to resume the following day, when they finished.  They did a pretty good job of cleanup, which was made much more difficult by the amount of leaves that had fallen around the house - it would have been very hard to find the small fragments of shingles and nails all those leaves.  I later was able to blow both the small scraps along with the leaves out of the plant beds and into the woods.  I did find a few nails, but again it was nearly impossible to find them until the leaves were blown away.  The work crew was polite and professional.  I felt the price was a little higher than expected, but we did use high-grade stain-resistant shingles, and overall I felt the value received was good.  The new roof has yet to experience rain, but it looks tight and solid and I do not anticipate any leaks.  The shingles look good and are noticeably higher quality than the ones we replaced.  Mr. Hargrove pointed out to me several places where they had applied extra sealant to ensure that vent joints and other potential sources of leaks were well-sealed and should not cause problems.
