"Needed my property graded after all the rain was making ponds and they graded my place with water draining away from my house and driveway. I will definitely call them back for asphalt paving on my driveway."

"I didn't have any problems with the work that they did.  They plus side is that they were willing to do small jobs.  Basically, all the other asphalt companies I talked to, this company had the best price.  They were just more inclined to do the small job.  The impression that I had with them, but I didn't bring it up with them, was that they would put a coating of asphalt over the whole thing.  They ended only doing a portion of the parking lot.  The crew was very cooperative though and did a good job.  The work order was very brief and only said 8 tons of hot asphalt and it seemed like that's what they laid.  I had someone who asked me how much they charged for this and and I told him and he seemed very honest and ethical.  he said that he would have done it for us for about half that amount so that leaves a question about them.  For what they did they seemed to do very well.  Whether it was a good deal for what they did remains to be seen because I don't have that much experience with this type of work. "

"Warmzone has been very responsive. However, the installers made mistakes installing the system and when they went to correct it, somehow caused damage that made the system inoperable. They had to come back a year later and redo it. Now it works pretty good. Every time I've had questions Warmzone has been very responsive. i would use them again--but use their recommended installers and not my contractors who did it last time. <br /> One caveat: The system doesn't always work perfectly in very cold weather with fast accumulating snow. We have old-fashioned clay brick pavers. Next time I'll send Warmzone a sample of the pavers so that they can test for the power needed to operate the system effectively. <br /> But--they sell a great product and they're very helpful to deal with. They'll get right on the phone with you and troubleshoot, even long after the sale. <br />"

"Steve is very professional and very knowledgeable. He gave a detailed written estimate and performed the job as scheduled. The finished patio was better then we had imagined. But Steve wasn't satisfied. He thought the color was off. So he came back and redid it at no additional cost. The total price was much lower then we had received from other contractors. And the work is absolutely excellent. We give him an unqualified positive referral."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Bakersfield, CA

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
