"The service people who come out to the home are great, but I literally can not tell a difference at all with the actual services apart from the very specific things (like removing a wasp nest, etc.) Since it is winter, I called to cancel, thinking I would just use them when necessary, and I was told I could not. I said I always specifically ask, of any service, if I can cancel at any time and I was told I could. They pulled the calls and verified that I, indeed, did ask if I could cancel and was told that I could and was not told that I would have to pay half of the remaining services of a 9-service contract. Each service is roughly $125, so that is a lot for them to NOT perform services... I explained that I did not agree to that and that I specifically asked if I could cancel at any time, but alas they told me the best they could do is let me pay $150+ to end my contract, or I can continue to have the service (that is completely unnecessary right now). So I guess I am going to be stuck in this contract for the foreseeable future. To be clear - there is no reason a pest control company can not let someone out of a contract, If you can survive as a company without tricking people into lengthy contracts they can not get out of, you probably need to revisit your strategy. Again, the people seem nice, but when the people are forced to say things like the best I can offer you is for you to pay money for us to stop charging you money it is not a good situation. I completely recognize this is a problem with policy and not people, but when you do not empower your customer service staff to serve customers in their best interests, it is still not good customer service. This company prioritizes profits over people and products."

"Absolutely terrible. Do not ever use. I was sold on the service by a technician who was working on the house next door. He did a very brief inspection and claimed to see droppings in various locations. Some locations were accurate, but he showed me a picture of an A/C unit with a lot of droppings in it, which I later checked, and did not see any in ours. I called to cancel, and surprise, there was a huge cancellation fee of $250, which the technician did not tell me about. He did tell me "you can cancel anytime" so not an outright lie, but he omitted the fee. The line about the fee is in the contract, but that isn't something you normally read when someone is handing you a tiny iPhone screen to sign with your finger. I should have looked at the contract more closely, but this is clearly a company with shady practices who encourage their technicians to lie by omission and hook prospective customers who just want to get pests and rodents out of their house."

FAQs for rodent pest control service projects in Baldwin City, KS

Rodent exclusion seals every gap, vent, and crack that rodents use to sneak inside your home. Most homeowners pay an average of $200 to $600 for this add-on. By blocking entry points, you create a long-term barrier that cuts down on repeat infestations and helps protect both your family and your property.

Pros start with an inspection, then place tamper-resistant bait stations and traps in high-traffic spots. They’ll also seal entry points and clean droppings to reduce health risks. Follow-up visits confirm that the plan worked and that no new rodents have moved in. This step-by-step approach removes the current infestation and helps keep your home rodent-free going forward.

A trained pest-control pro can pinpoint hidden access points using a flashlight, thermal imaging, and plenty of crawl-space sleuthing. During an inspection, the specialist maps every gap, vent, or pipe run that rats use, then explains how to seal each one. This detailed report lets you tackle the weak spots immediately and dramatically lowers the odds of another infestation.

Rodent prevention starts with managing food and entry points. Store pantry items in airtight containers, take out trash promptly, and keep pet food sealed. Outside, trim vegetation and stack firewood away from the house. Inside, seal gaps with steel wool or hardware cloth. A tidy yard and a buttoned-up home give rats and mice few reasons—or routes—to move in.

For wall or attic nests, pros place snap traps or CO2-powered units in the exact runways rats use, then return to remove carcasses and reset as needed. Poison is risky indoors because rats may die in hidden spots, creating odors or health issues, so most technicians avoid it. Once trapping is complete, they’ll seal entry points and clean droppings to finish the job.

Plan on several weeks, especially for larger infestations. Your pro will set traps, return every few days to collect rats, and adjust placement until activity stops. Final visits include sealing access points and sanitizing affected areas. Timelines vary, but most homes are rat-free after two to four follow-ups. Prompt scheduling and good sanitation can shorten the process.
