"We were and are still thrilled with the project completed by Archadeck. There was a slight problem with settling the first year, and TJ replaced more than needed on a schedule that fit with us. Our project consisted of bringing in material to level a slope, installing over 800sf of patio pavers, and replacing a multi-level deck with a privacy wall. I would highly recommend Archadeck."

"Scott and Jon did a wonderful job giving an estimate, communicating with us during the process and problem solving with us the concerns we had of our backyard and pool installation. They are knowledgeable, hardworking and trustworthy."

"Roger has done a number of jobs for us this winter and did a great job on all of them. We needed two bathrooms retiled but had a narrow window because we were leaving on a trip soon and needed the work done while we were there but my in-laws were visiting and both are up in age. To accommodate our time issues Roger and his crew came over on a weekend while my in-laws were at my daughters. They kept the hallway and bedroom room clean at the end of each day and quickly completed the work. The work was great and price was exceptional for such high quality work. He redid two bathrooms, took down a damaged tree and replaced and repaired the soffit on our garage, repaired a fence and completely replaced both a balcony and our deck . He did an incredible job, doing much of the work when we were out of the country it kept me updated with photos of work as it was done each day."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Bangor, ME

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
