"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

"Dan did an excellent job repairing the door and cleaning up before he left. The Company helped me by arriving early Monday morning to make the repair so I could get my car out to go to Radiation Therapy treatement. Very customer oriented. Having weekend phone hours is a great help when an emergency situation happens."

"Disappointing Experience with Universal Windows Direct, you do not get what you paid for. I originally chose Universal Windows Direct based on a positive interaction with Darren, who was knowledgeable, friendly, and emphasized the company's lifetime warranty. We decided to move forward with a window installation on March 15, 2023, despite the higher cost, because of this promise. The installation itself was excellent, but after a few months, the clasps on the windows began to fail. A technician replaced them at no charge, which was in line with the lifetime warranty. Encouraged by our initial experience, we decided to contract with Universal Windows for siding on June 19, 2024. Brandon, who handled the sale, again reassured us that the same lifetime warranty would apply, with no fees involved. While there were some delays and scheduling hiccups, we were willing to overlook those as we wanted the job completed. Unfortunately, the siding installation on September 12, 2024, was a major letdown. The installers faced communication issues, cut our cable line (disrupting my work), and rushed through what should have been a two-day job, finishing it in under 8 hours. Within a day, the siding began to detach. Additionally, there were holes under the sunroom, trash left in both my yard and my neighbor's, and missing flashing. When I raised concerns, the installers' only response was "it’s not in your contract"—which was incredibly frustrating. A technician came out and suggested a full reinstallation, but when work was done on January 2, 2025, only the loose pieces were nailed back up, leaving the job looking poorly done. By January 28, 2025, the siding had detached again. Another technician came out, but once again, only nailed it back up. The real shock came on March 19, 2025, when I was informed about a new $149 service fee. This was in stark contrast to the terms of our original agreements, which had no mention of service fees. I was told the siding would not incur a fee because I was still within the one-year warranty, but my windows would be charged since they were outside the warranty period. However, my window agreement never mentioned a service fee, and the siding agreement stated that such a fee would only apply if the damage was outside the warranty coverage. When I raised these issues, I was told that the company could change the terms of the warranty at any time. This felt incredibly unethical, as I was never informed of these potential changes at the time of signing. In conclusion, while Universal Windows Direct initially seemed like a solid choice, the ongoing issues, poor quality of work, and changes to the terms of the warranty have left me deeply dissatisfied. I would caution potential customers to carefully review all terms and conditions before moving forward with this company."

I started this business because I have always been a leader. It bothers me to see companies who don't put out quality work. I want to show clients that quality work is important to me. I treat every project like it is my own house, and my goal is to make homes feel like home. \n\nI am who I am because I am a United States Marine Veteran. I served 8 years in the USMC. \n\nThe Marine Corps taught me the importance of attention to detail. I had to manage jobs and workers, collaborate with others, and take my time to get things done correctly. These are all characteristics I have taken into my work with remodeling. \n\nWhen I got out of the Marine Corps, I was looking for a hands on job. I started working for a remodeling company, and I picked up the trade very quickly. The job gave me a broad understanding of home remodeling.\n\nI am confident in the work I quote, and I am excited to venture into more projects. I am looking forward to making more homes feel like home.

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Barnhart, MO

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
