They corrected a problem with our chimney liner that apparently wasnâ t fastened correctly and did some repairs to the brick and sealed everything. No more leaks! Would highly recommend."

"After having been left in a bit of a mess by a previous contractor, we decided not to continue with it, we contacted Shamrock Chimney and explained the unfortunate situation we found ourselves in. Within three days, Corey and Frank had arrived to attack our problem. Corey was astounded at what he found; a torn liner, like one of those in a clothes dryer and dozens of bricks, some removed unnecessarily, scattered on the ground. He quoted us a price, not a lot less than our original contractor had, but we were in desperate straits and had no times to get additional estimates. He said there was a lot more work to do than we had expected and showed us why. He and Frank started work on Thursday and by Saturday noon had, miraculously to us, completed the whole repair and cleaned up the mess we had been left with. We now have two new stainless-steel liners and chimney caps and a rebuilt chimney. I rated the work quality as 5.0 but, having read reviews of other chimney repairs, hope the work will, last and have no reason to expect otherwise. As for 4.0 for value for the money: estimates of chimney repair charges are all over the place on the internet, so it is hard to judge. Corey told me he had taken our plight into consideration when setting a price. Based on our interaction, I have no reason to doubt him. In sum, we found ourselves in a totally chaotic situation on one Saturday, but by the next everything was back to normal or better even. "Kevin was very professional and prompt with initial contact and quotation. He informed me that he was busy so that if we decided to proceed it would be a little while before he could start.  Once he was able to give me a time frame, he stuck to that, working around rain delays which are understandable. The job was done well, and he communicated regularly throughout the process. The work that was done looks great - the stairs and path are smooth and even and he even added a bit of flair to the work that made it more visually appealing than it had been.  Kevin initially said he would have to see the railing to know if it could be reused or would need to be replaced.  When he came to start the job, he felt the railing was in good shape and could be reused, but after removal and doing the job, he decided it was actually too heavy to be used on the new concrete and would either need to be cut and split into two smaller sections, or replaced. This work has not yet been completed as he was going to contact someone else about the railing job, which would be a separate job since it could not be replaced as-is. I will update the review once that part of the job is completed.
