"Honest tech, Prior to this apointment I had someone clean my boiler who stated that my chimney needed cleaning. when the tech came in he detached the chimney pipe to the boiler and showed me how clean it already was, and told me that it did not need cleaning. NO CHARGE."

"David gave me what I thought was a fair price for the work to be done. He asked for 1/2 up front. As a previous small business owner I did not feel this was unreasonable so I paid him 500.00. He estimated the work would take 3 to four days and I thought the same. After several no shows the "mason" showed up. The first clue was he came in a car. According to my wife he was here 2 hours and left, came back for another 2 hours the next day and left again. He said nothing to my wife about leaving or when he would be back. David called a day later to ask about coming out to look over the job and get the rest of the other 500.00. I said he isn't finished and he's only been here 4 hours. So then I looked up the prevailing wage in IL for a mason and found out it is 28.50 an hour. The next day the guy comes back for another 3 hours. David came to look at the work and I walked him around and showed him all of the places that had not been done. So the guy comes back again for about an hour. All told it was 8 hours work, nothing to write home about but it was agreed up front that I wasn't looking for an exposed brick look. I need it tuck pointed well enough so that I could drylock and paint the exposed brick. I will say this was done in the end. The worker left a mess that I and my wife had to clean up, I pointed this out to David as well. I told him I felt he was overly paid for the amount of work preformed and that was the end of it. It's really to bad. It's difficult to get contractors to do small jobs and I had plenty for him to do. I'm not unhappy, just would not hire again"

"There's a great Angie's List package for FrontPoint, but the package had a different number/combination of sensors than what I needed. I needed more door/window sensors, and I didn't need any motion or the key FOB. When I called FrontPoint, Dave (the salesperson) stated that that wasn't a problem, and that FrontPoint would give me what I needed for the Angie's List package price. He said it was possible that I would need to pay a small additional amount (because I needed a lot of door/window sensors), but that it would be "no more than $40 or something low like that." I told him that I would purchase the Angie's List package, and we scheduled a call for later in the week to finalize everything. I purchased the package. When the time came for our scheduled call, Dave didn't call back. Instead, one of his colleagues called a few hours later, and said that Dave was wrong about customizing my sensors for the Angie's List package. He said the Angie's List package is what it is, and the company couldn't honor what Dave told me over the phone. He offered to give me a different deal, but it was nowhere near as good as what Dave had promised. I told him that I thought this was unprofessional of the company not to live up to what their sales employee committed to (which they could verify, as I'm sure our call was recorded). Luckily, Angie's List refunded my money fully, so thank you, Angie's List! I ended up going with 1st Security, whom I had initially contacted before purchasing the FrontPoint deal. Jeremy came out to my house to explain 1st Security's system (co-branded system with alarm.com), and gave me an amazingly good deal with the best pricing possible. The thing that amazed me was that 1st Security's pricing (both upfront equipment cost and the monthly monitoring charge, with full access to smart phone system) was LESS than FrontPoint option that Dave's colleague offered me. Yes--it was less than FrontPoint, even though 1st Security's pricing includes FULL installation by a professional (Larry, who was amazing--spent hours at my house making sure everything was right and teaching my husband and me how to use the system). Even more amazingly, 1st Security's monthly rate (again, less than FrontPoint) includes service, meaning that there is NO house-call charge, the way there was with my previous alarm company. If anything breaks, etc., they will come out and fix/replace it! Jeremy and Larry were both awesome--helpful, courteous, professional, prompt, etc. I highly HIGHLY recommend them and 1st Security. If you're thinking of going with FrontPoint to save money, don't bother--call 1st Security."

"I called a CHW representative on Sunday night and described the problem. They had contacted a local appliance repairman and scheduled a visit for the following day. The repairman called to give me a window of when he would arrive and called again fifteen minutes prior to his arrival. He repaired the dishwasher and was gone in less than an hour. He was professional and courteous. I’m very pleased with CHW and their service providers."

"They were nice and they did a fine job but I was expecting them to do something else in addition to that and I just happen to arrive home when they were in the process of cleaning the gutters. Apparently, they did a special and they were swamped they told me and no one told me they were coming. They didn't make a call saying we're going to be there at this hour. I didn't know they were going to show up that day much less what time and I just happen to show up when they were working and I was getting ready to explain a particular procedure that I wanted on a downspout and I couldn't do that if they had come and gone without me seeing them so I was a little unhappy with that but then it turns out they don't do the procedure that we were hoping for. My wife saw the deal online. So then, I said could you contact your boss and have him call me and let me know if this is something that he could do, maybe it would cost me more money, and no one ever called back. They were just head down, their back was up and they were working hard but they weren't calling and letting us know. They just showed up to do it. I guess I'm not used to that. I was expecting more from customer service and I think that personally, I don't care how small you are especially when you're starting out. If you have to go home and eat dinner and make phone calls, that's what you do. I'm not sure if I would use them again."
