"The basement of our home was finished before we purchased it by the previous homeowners. Over the years, I have noticed that whoever did the job cut corners and did not have an eye for detail or workmanship. Our children are getting older, so my wife and I finally decided that the downstairs bathroom needed to be re-tooled and updated. We decided that we wanted to do the job right the first time and hopefully not think about it for many years to come. I took to Angie's List and found the highly positive reviews that Luis' received from other clients. I contacted him for an estimate, and he promptly set and kept an appointment with me. I discussed a few different ideas I had for the space, and Luis promptly provided me with quotes for the different jobs. He was competitive with other quotes we received, so we decided to proceed with Luis' services. Luis was ready to start the job a short time after we told him we wanted to hire him but I still was waiting on some of the materials I ordered to arrive. It was refreshing for us to see someone who was eager to start the work for us and who we did not have to constantly call or wonder when he was going to begin work. I received all of the materials, and Luis arrived promptly at 7am on our scheduled day to begin. He worked Monday to Sunday and completed the job in one week. He communicated with us along the way, and there were no surprises. If an issue arose that needed to be addressed, Luis would immediately communicate with us. He said several times that, "If I never told you about this issue you probably would have never known. I want to be honest with you." These issues that arose were not a reflection of Luis but the individual who previously finished the basement. I appreciated that all along the way because I do not feel like Luis was just out to take the hard earned money out of our pocket. Luis clearly is a craftsman and cares about the quality of the work he does. He is concerned with his reputation and strives for perfection. We have already asked Luis for a quote for our second bathroom remodel. I would without a doubt hire Luis again, and I would recommend him to anyone that asks. The other thing we learned is that Luis knows a lot of people that are in the trades, and he has referred us to other individuals to possibly do other work. See the attached pictures of the before and after. My wife and family are extremely happy with the job Luis did, and they now refer to the finished bathroom as the "spa bathroom". "He came and inspected our brick exterior, and gave his opinion about what should be done to repair and maintain the brick exterior.  He gave an estimate to repair the damaged bricks as well as rebuilding the chimney from the roof up.  "

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Curt landscaped the area outside my condo with decorative bricks and stone. I wanted two areas that had soil, plants, and weeds removed and replaced with the bricks so that I could have more patio space. He left a small perimeter of soil and re-planted some of the plants in that area. Curt was quick to respond to my email and was able to come out and give me an estimate and do the work the following week. The work was done in one day and looked great. It turned out better than I had expected. Curt came up with a great design and his estimate was less than others I had received. I have received many compliments on my patio. I would recommend and use this contractor again."
